You have the assets to overpay for one. Trade a ton for Bird I'm fine without them. The rest of the league isn't though. lol'd league is fine

mj, bingo, magic, bird come in as top 3 players in the league almost instantly and you wonder why no one trades for their studs. That's why only rape trades happen and no one offers for stars. Bingo has been in the league for 15 years though.

Its way easier to blame the league then to blame yourself. I know thats the case. People lose interest and stop doing what they did when they were successful.

ability/inablity to compete w/ mj/bird/magic is irrelevant really. People just don't want to trade for stars anymore unless it's a dumb gm getting raped for one. What's the point of trading for a star if you can just tank and a top 2-3 pick gives you a top 10 value player nowadays. That shouldn't happen. That's why people don't trade anymore, they just tank to acquire their assets. but that is how you end up cyd a bust, dropping in the draft, a weak draft that is how guys got cyd. i don't think that the problem is the studs, the problem is that guys sell out their teams too quickly so they can tank with 10-20 draft picks and a couple prospects. we have seen numerous teams a player or two away just blow it up

[quote author=aar board=rcs thread=24564 post=1135698 time=1345490566 5) What do you think has been the worst trade this season and why?
That Nuggets, Clippers trade was horrible. I just didn't get it for greeme at all. I mean he got taken out back for a 2nd tier big in his 30's. He traded English for Lasalle i think? and then he flipped lasalle+++ for Neal? LOL. That shit was just hilarious to me. Add to the fact greeme's horrible fucking logic. "Yea i got Ainge for free so Ainge has no value to me". What kind of shit is that? When you find a diamond in the rough, you don't go and give it away for free. But now we all know, anything of value Greeme stumbles upon, can be had for free or cheap, he's only one pm away. I knew hype would only deal his player for a rape, but I didn't think someone would be dumb enough to give it to him.
[/quote] lasalle didn't get traded

LOL, that doesnt even make sense.

Im just sick of this argument.
2038 Nuggets Kareem Abdul-Jabbar C 2037 Wizards Walt Frazier PG 2036 Celtics Dave Bing PG 2035 Cavaliers Rick Barry SF 2034 Cavaliers Willis Reed C 2033 Warriors Walt Hazzard PG 2032 Knicks Chet Walker SF 2031 Nets John Havlicek SG 2030 Trail Blazers Horace Walker SF 2029 Lakers Jerry West PG 2028 76ers Oscar Robertson SF 2027 Timberwolves Wilt Chamberlain C 2026 Cavaliers Bill Russell C 2025 Hornets Elgin Baylor SF 2024 Hawks Bob Petit PF
THis stretch didnt "kill" the league, yet all these players were legit studs.

Dean Hollis was still in the league at this point too and he was a stud Oscar's numbers were similar to Magic, but he had no supporting cast Horace was better than Bobby Jones most likely West was perpetually A- A- A- A- C Chet Walker was awesome We have short term memories around here

Botom line, if your team is good you like how things are going. If your team sucks, the league sucks.
