Magic/Bird/Jordan killed the league. Its possibly. I feel like people are just lamenting the fact that they dont have these guys when its been shown you can still win here without them. |

Its more just the feeling that teams cant compete without Bird/MJ/Magic.
But its cyclical. These guys are great, but what about Stockton Malone Olajuwon Ewing Robinson Pippen? And then Shaq Zo Lj Payton Kidd. And then Kobe KG Duncan Nash. People are so fatalistic.

ability/inablity to compete w/ mj/bird/magic is irrelevant really. People just don't want to trade for stars anymore unless it's a dumb gm getting raped for one. What's the point of trading for a star if you can just tank and a top 2-3 pick gives you a top 10 value player nowadays. That shouldn't happen. That's why people don't trade anymore, they just tank to acquire their assets.

mj, bingo, magic, bird come in as top 3 players in the league almost instantly and you wonder why no one trades for their studs. That's why only rape trades happen and no one offers for stars.

my interest in the league is high still, but the drop off in trade offers occurred when these ridiculous rookies started coming in.
