to clarify the FA Day 1... it takes us approximately 36 hours to get from finals part 2 through FA Day 1 under the current setup. The draft is about 24 hours of that. With the proposed rule, I think the draft will take a lot less time for the draft and a lot more time to get all the day 1 bids in I could be way off though I think this year it would have affected two picks. It wouldn't speed things up that much, it'd just remove the annoying long lulls when there doesn't need to be any. I'd be cool with the hour thing, or shortening it to 3 picks in front of you (so it'd be a 4 person list). But it's just so damn frustrating when a guy signs on a few spots before his pick, doesn't leave a list, and then doesn't come back for 2 hours. MEHHH. There's a ton of times where people don't leave lists because they think they're going to be around, then something comes up. The point would be to give people a bigger incentive to leave lists in case that something comes up. lol, that's more like a you problem. Go do something else. You don't need to be glaring at your screen. 24 hours for 29 picks + 2nd round is enough. You're probably sleeping for some of that. Keep it in your pants.

Maybe this is a good idea. I can just easily see me checking in from my phone and not having time to send a list or get back on within a half hour pm a draft mod if it's an issue kind of thing would work IMO. It's more just to make people more aware of where the draft is, so that if they know this rule is there and they see the draft is going on, they check things out. If they can't be back on in 30 mins (or an hour or whatever is decided to make sense) then shoot a quick pm to a draft mod saying so.

How dare someone who ran the draft try to make things run smoother.

Just a couple things.
I think the mods could PM guys pick or 2 before they're up. Used to be mods did that I think, but hasn't been happening lately.
Also, how bout a 30 minute grace period after lotto? It would give guys more time to explore trades. The lotto throws a wrench into plans sometimes.

I've been trying to do that for the most part when I see someone on the boards and their a few picks away. But really if the draft is going on and you have picks, you should be checking to see the state of the draft when you sign on.

meh, not a big fan. Yea, it gets shit done faster, but shit gets done at a good speed as it is. Asking for lists many picks in advance sucks especially when you're trying to deal. People get time limits for a reason, keep it that way.

Instead of 2 make it 1 hour regardless. Meets everyone in the middle. If someone asks to be texted because of limited availability that should be taken into consideration too. But i know my opinion does not matter much but i think at least make it some kind of a middle ground. 30 mins regardless seems a bit harsh.

Live draft solves all of this.
