If i had a smartphone i guess this would be a different story, but i don't. There's times where shit pops up and i gotta leave but i still wanna deal. If drafts were taking long, i'd bite the bullet and be like ok, something needs to be done about the slow drafts. But this shit gets done efficiently on a yearly basis. this is pointless. you getting the S3 for sure or nah? yea, for sure. July 9th for verizon i believe.

it has nothing to do w/ having internet access or getting disconnected. It's just about sometimes having to bounce and the thought that i might be only given 30 mins. cause i got something to do is bothersome. If you text me and i say i'll be on in an hour cause i'm busy and my time clock just started, i think i should be allowed to do that. If this new rule doesn't change that scenario i don't have a problem with it. Yeah I don't see why that wouldn't be alright. As things are now though, if you're signed on during your pick that's still what happens. The clock starts, and signing off doesn't reset it back to the 2 hour clock instead of the 30 minute one.

I only skimmed through the thread but the draft rules seem fine the way they are. We move fast enough... honestly.

And this rule affects me more than any other GM since I'm so horrible. I think my opinion should mean double

And like I said in like my 2nd post.. as long as I get my full 30 once I log onto the boards that's all I really care about.

I think we should stay as is. The draft only took a day and that is basically what it always takes. This could cause problems for people in class or at work. I would be in favor of making it 1 hour if you've been on, but 30 minutes is too short given the amount of things that can occupy you for that short of time (particularly if you are just checking in)
I could also see this getting us through the draft so much faster that we would end up just waiting on FA Day 1 as long as we would have spent finishing the draft

to clarify the FA Day 1... it takes us approximately 36 hours to get from finals part 2 through FA Day 1 under the current setup. The draft is about 24 hours of that. With the proposed rule, I think the draft will take a lot less time for the draft and a lot more time to get all the day 1 bids in
I could be way off though

With the proposed rule, I think the draft will take a lot less time for the draft and a lot more time to get all the day 1 bids in I could be way off though I think this year it would have affected two picks. It wouldn't speed things up that much, it'd just remove the annoying long lulls when there doesn't need to be any. I'd be cool with the hour thing, or shortening it to 3 picks in front of you (so it'd be a 4 person list). But it's just so damn frustrating when a guy signs on a few spots before his pick, doesn't leave a list, and then doesn't come back for 2 hours. MEHHH. There's a ton of times where people don't leave lists because they think they're going to be around, then something comes up. The point would be to give people a bigger incentive to leave lists in case that something comes up.

Maybe this is a good idea. I can just easily see me checking in from my phone and not having time to send a list or get back on within a half hour
