though actually this is just an entirely different problem all together....just make a bad knees caveat, and if the Blazers draft them, well, its automatic
(injury prone would be good)

Brandon Roy in 08-09, pre injuries, was a top 10 player.

One could also argue that outside of injuries, the only thing that separated a guy like Roy from a Bron or Wade was that extra notch of athleticism. Roy was athletic, but he wasn't LeBron or Wade athletic.

actually, player traits that show up based on a guys underneath ratings, but you cant see those, would be nice
so say a guy has a 30 injury prevention rating, he would earn an injury prone label which would show up on the player page
if a guy was a super athlete there would be a trait,
shooter trade, etc...
or do away with ratings and just use stats and those

Brandon Roy in 08-09, pre injuries, was a top 10 player. He was great no doubt, but he wasnt the overall amazing guy...he's top 10 sure, but based on pure athleticism he woulda graded out well compared to a LeBron etc. But then, Kevin Love is a top player now, yet he doesnt match up to any of them athletically, thats what worries me is all

are you gonna make a difference between catch and shoot shooting and creating off the dribble shooting?

vertical is far from the only measure of athleticism. Gerald Green, despite his vertical, has pretty poor lateral quickness, bad first step, etc.
I suppose when I say athleticism I mean their physical attributes. That includes strength, quickness, jumping, height, weight. Roy wasn't Wade or LeBron strong/have that type of body.
And again, Roy was very much on the cusp of being an MVP level player.

meant to say he would match up well athletically to Wade, not LeBron

are you gonna make a difference between catch and shoot shooting and creating off the dribble shooting? Yeah, that's a big key. I have something for getting open off the ball that's separate from the ability to create your own shot on the ball (a good passer also gets guys open shots off the ball, etc). That way a guy like James Jones can't just be given the ball and shoot 40% from three as an option.

Roy was bigger than Wade, so yeah, a step slower, bench press is pretty meh since it is better to have shorter arms, and, it doesnt test the strength that matters more to wings, taking contact etc, better to be overall solid than to throw up 30 on the bench press

wade wasnt that much more athletic than roy. the difference was wades wingspan and spatial awareness was off the charts
LB was on another level compared to both of them.

Wade really isnt more athletic than Roy, Roy had far far more explosiveness vertically, Wade was quicker and more compact

The whole athleticism factor would serve mainly as a rate of development thing. Andrew Bynum enters the league raw as hell, Love enters it ready, after three years though both are on a similar level, yet Bynum has developed more. It's more about development rate and sort of catching up.
