1 – Suns
Won last year and the best team this year. Noah and Favors might be the best frontcourt in the league. Williams might be the best player in the league. Webster is a great scorer. Xuang is a good defender and a solid rebounder for a sf. Need a backup pg.
2 – Bulls
Hayward resigned so they bulls bring back the same starting lineup that reached the finals last year. A solid, not great, frontcourt. No backup pg. That is just nitpicking. This is a very good team. Perry, Gordon and Jrue are amazing at pg/sg/sf and all 24 and under. Jared Dudley is very underrated. Don't have cap room to sign Perry next year but I'm sure Play will take care of it by the end of the year.
3 – Nuggets
Best 3pt shooting team in the league. Curry, JR and Gallo are 3 of the top 10 3pt shooters in the league. Diaw dropped in rebounding so there is a question if he can keep playing pf. Milicic is a defensive monster who rebounds with the best of them. Thompson and Millsap are solid backups, as is Calderon. No backup sf and Lamb is a question as a backup sg. Still, if Curry can cut down on his tos this team could compete for the championship.
4 – Lakers
Gasol is arguably the best player in the game. Kaman took a big hit in tc but will still form one of the top frontcourts in the game with Gasol. Gilchrist looks like a superstar after an unbelievable tc. Ilyasova and Shved form a slightly above average backcourt. This team need more depth.
5 – Spurs
A nice three man rotation in the front court with Andriuskevicius, blatche and young. Nice backcourt players such as Collison, Wagner and Fenandez. Twill is a solid sf. Not as good as the top 3 teams but a very good team who is one upgrade away from competing for the championship.
6 – Clippers
I really like this team. Brook and JV in the frontcourt and Irving at the point. Love is too slow to defend sfs and Gay is nothing special. CDR and Afflalo are solid backups. If he moves Love for a similarly talented sf this team will be dangerous.
7 – Nets
The window is closing fast. The Nets had a bad tc. Paul and Melo both fell. Al Jefferson is a major talent but you can't play 3 on 5. That said Anthony and Paul are always dangerous in a short series. Caron Butler and whoever is playing center are below average starters.
8 – Wolves
Hit their peak and are on their way down. Still any team with Roy and Ellis in the backcourt is a force to be dealt with. Turiaf is a solid defender but this team has to upgrade at sf/pf if they want to compete for the championship.
9 – Knicks
Kind of the opposite of the Nets. They don't have a superstar but they have 5 solid starters. Horford and Smith are a good frontcourt. Cook is a solid pg, Sergio is a scoring machine and Prince is a solid sf. Mozgov and Telfair are solid backups. Not elite but a very solid team.
10 – Bobcats
Rubio just keeps getting better. Zach is getting older but can still play. Anthony Randolph and Mcgee are an above average frontcourt but nothing special. Shannon Brown is just slightly above average. Seem to have a hardcap problem so somebody will have to go.
