Derrick Williams Power Forward 6'9" 221 lbs. Arizona Rookie Ratings:B C- D+ B C+ A Strengths:-Very good in the post with a variety of moves (not just a pure dunker). -His strength allows him to get separation in the post, along with his post moves. -Size and strength allows him to body up in the post and be a solid defender. -7-foot+ wingspan allows him to block some shots and pull down rebounds despite his height. Weaknesses:-Doesn't have great speed or handles, so he won't blow by his defender. -Is a bit undersized. -Needs a mid-range game. -Bad passing and court vision, once the ball gets to him it doesn't come out. -Is inconsistent from the ft line. Overall:-Williams looks to be a very solid forward. He doesn't have the size to play the 5, so he is going to be limited to the 4 most likely. What he lacks in some rebounding, he makes up for in solid defense and a good inside game. Handles are not a strength and he will struggle with to problems most likely. His lack of consistently outside of the paint is frustrating, but doesn't hurt his value too much. He looks to be a solid prospect with top 5 potential.
