Strengths: Unbelievable scoring guard. Barton has ridiculous range and is an amazing finisher, especially in transition. Exciting above the rim, but equally effective in the midrange. Barton has scoring instincts to be among the league leaders year in, year out.
Weaknesses: Weakness. He's 170 pounds and will get abused by BBS veteran guards nightly, unless he can fill out. He'll need a lot of work in the weight room and possibly strength upgrades. He is a talented defender and rebounder thanks to his size and quickness, but that won't translate to the BBS level unless he puts muscle on and gets strength camps.
Overall: One of the most promising players in his draft class, but he remains a one-way player. His scoring ability is rare, and will only suffer slightly from his lagging handles. Without much improvement, he could be a Flip Murray type, but that scenario sells short Barton's potential. He is an explosive athlete who all the necessary feel for the game. His development may take some time, but if fills out physically, watch out.
