Position:C/PF
Birthdate:March 3rd, 1988
Height: 6'10"
Weight: 310
College: Texas
Draft Ratings: B+ D D C C+ A
Strengths:
Pittman is a beast in the low post, using his overwhelming size and strength to dominate the paint, he shot an amazing 65.3% from the field in college. His size is elite, at 6'10" but with a 7'6" wingspan, and a 9'3" standing reach Pittman will rarely be at a size disadvantage, and that length allows Pittman to be an excellent shotblocker, getting 1.9 a game at Texas in only 19 minutes a game. Also, Pittman has huge hands, allowing him to control the ball fairly well as it pertains to post moves, pump fakes etc, and it helps his shotblocking.
Weaknesses:
WEIGHT!!! Pittman has struggled to control his weight throughout his career, and topping over 300 pounds, with 21% body fat, it shows that Pittman's work ethic, and commitment to being great is not necessarily there. His weight limited him in college to only 20 minutes a game, on average. For being such a strong player, and having such a big wingspan, Pittman is a poor rebounder, which in part can be blamed upon his lack of quickenss..which yet again can be attributed to his weight. he can be foul prone, and will commit turnovers, many due to getting offensive fouls while bowling people over in the paint. His Defense, outside his shotblocking, is poor to say the least, he doesnt have the ability to keep up with his man, and has no ability to cover face up PF's. Terrible FT shooter.
Outlook:
Pittman is an interesting prospect, with excellent potential as a big in BBS, IF he decides to put in the effort to improve. His Weight and conditioning will be a factor, and I would expect him to foul, alot, over his career, but, his shotblocking and scoring combo will be tough for teams to pass up, especially late in lotto, but I could see him going before even then, if some team falls in love with him.
