We are now to the quarter mark of this version of BBS's 15th season. While I would typically prefer to do this article during the offseason, as I have for UOSLR, I was a bit delayed as the historical team performance page was not updated. However, Spence has been updating it all throughout the season now, and I want to give XY an article.

There really hasnt been a dominant team in BBS to this point, and maybe thats due to the 4 year contract year cycle, or the number of quality GM's, making it tough to win consistently, but my guess is a bit of both. Teams are unable to tank long enough to acquire a bunch of sick prospects, and therefore have to go for a win now approach, trading for more veteran players, in an attempt to make a title run. This causes teams title windows to be shorter, and allows more fluidity in the top and bottom teams. The Phoenix Suns though come out on top in this version, due in large part to their 2 titles, 3 finals appearances, combined with their excellence in the regular season. However, it is a close call between the Suns and Jazz, as the Suns only manage a 10 point lead, which is just 10 regular season wins from being a tie. Luckily for the Suns, they seem to have built a team that can win for a very long time, though it would appear the Jazz do as well. The top 4 teams could threaten to take the title come this offseason, should they win a title. I would expect the 76ers to fall off some, with Spencer leading a rebuild but many of the current top 10 are winning as of this moment. On the other end of the spectrum, the Los Angeles Clippers are the worst franchise in the leagues history, winning a meager 502 games overall in the history of BBS, (Playoff wins+Regular Season Wins)

2 points for a playoff win
4 points for a Division Title
4 Points for a Conference Title (on top of 4 for winning the division)
5 points for a playoff appearance
8 Points for being the overall number 1 (on top of the 8 from winning the conference)
10 points for a finals appearance
25 points for a title

That means a first round playoff appearance is worth 5-11 points (5 for the appearance + up to three wins at two points each) 2nd round is 13-19 points, Conference Championship 21-27, a Finals appearance is worth 39-45, and a title is worth 72 points, due to the wins. The most possible points in the regular season would be 98, and the most possible points in the playoffs 72. Without further hesitation, I present the overall Rankings.

Runner Up: Los Angeles-2.4

• I believe this balances out well, maybe I am a bit light on the points for titles, and I will look at fixing that if I feel as though teams are being underrated, but some teams, (Magic) have tanked for years and years, won 2 straight titles and then tanked some more.
  
• Utah has probably a better resume in the playoffs than any other team...except they suck when it comes to the finals, going 4 times, yet only winning it all once.
  
• The Bobcats, Nuggets, Trail Blazers, Magic, Cavaliers, and Bulls are each perfect when it comes to going to the finals and then completing the goal of winning a title. The Bobcats though are the only team to have accomplished the feat with more than one finals appearance
  
• The Spurs, Hornets, Lakers, Pacers, and Warriors are all on the opposite end of the spectrum, having reached the Finals, but come up short of winning a title, only the Warriors though have more than one appearance in the Finals without a title though.
  
• over half of BBS has made a finals appearance, with 16 of the 29 teams making a finals appearance.
  
• If I had to say that I have one team overrated in this ranking, it would have to be the Knicks at 6, as they do not even have a finals appearance....but neither do the Nets at 8.
  
• The Philadelphia 76ers are te best regular season team, as they have been consistent at winning a lot of games. Maniac appears to not enjoy tanking very much. However come playoff time, the 76ers have been unable to match their continued excellence with an average 5.37 wins per playoff appearance...so barel the second round.
  
• The Raptors and the 76ers do have the highest number of playoff appearances, at 11 in 14 seasons, however, the Raptors have consistently won more in the playoffs, but the 76ers regular season winning puts them slightly ahead.
  
• The Grizzlies in 8 season have only 12 playoff wins, it requires that many just to reach the finals in one playoffs
  
• I am missing the 2003 and 2004 conference standings, so I was unable to fully apply title points, if anybody were to have those, I would appreciate if I could get them, as I could update these to be fully correct.
