How I rank them: 1 point for every regular season win, 2 points for every playoff win, 10 points for every Finals appearance, 20 points for every championship This is an experimental thing if the points reward system is imbalanced I'll fix it for next year
My reasoning for the rankings is to heavily grade people who have made the Finals and won the Championships. This really separates those teams that choke come playoff team and those that perform exceptionally come playoff time.
My only concern as I am doing the rankings is that 1 point for a Regular Season Win is a bit to much, maybe if it were 1/2 point it'd be better. In any case I think the rankings as they are pretty good [/u]

26. Detroit Pistons
If these rankings were based on GMs Andrew and Pig would be at the bottom of the list. Andrew being at the bottom having been both the GM of the Los Angeles Clippers(#28) and Houston Rockets (#27) on this list and not counting the Denver Nuggets which he was fired before the inaugural season on this list. Up to the day of this writing he has yet to have an above .500 season and the highest win total he recorded was his final year with the Clippers at 34 wins. His total record as a GM comes out to 102 wins and 226 losses.
The New York Knicks lead the BBS in Regular Season wins but have not once reached the Finals and this drops them all the way down to 8th on the list.
The Orlando Magic are the only team in the top 10 with a Regular Season record under .500. Other than perhaps the Phoenix Suns the Orlando Magic are the most efficient team when reaching the finals being a perfect 2 for 2. The Suns are an astonishing 3 for 4 in the Finals.
Some of the surprising teams near the bottom of the list are the Thunder and Mavericks whom seem to be perennial playoff contenders but have not reached a single Finals appearance despite 20 playoff appearances between the two combined. '
The Memphis Grizzlies are the most disappointing team come Playoff time they have more playoff appearances than teams ranked 19 and below but have only amassed 17 wins in those appearances which is a little less than 2 wins per playoff appearance.
