This draft is all about #1. Kevin Durant is just a big talent with huge upside. He will be one of the better scorers in the league as a rookie and he should contend for a scoring title within 5 years. Durant will make whichever franchise wins the lotto.
Here is a look at the rest of the 2007 Draft....
Centers...
Greg Oden looks old. He also has struggled with injury problems. On the plus side he can really block shots and defend the paint. Defensively he is starter material already...Al Horford is a solid center that can do all the little things. He can score inside, defend and board. The biggest question for him is how much upside he has...Marc Gasol is a great young post scorer and rebounder. Not super athletic, more of a workman type low post grinder. Should be a top 5 pick...Spencer Hawes is a good young center spect. He has requisite measurables and plus athletic ability for the center position. Hawes is a decent shooter who has range out to the 3 point line...Stanko Barac is a good shooting big man. A great jump shooter and free thrower, Barac also has range out to 3...
Power Forwards...
Yi Jianlin is a scorer. He loves to shoot. Hes quick enough to beat most PFs off the dribble. Just a very good offensive layer. Defensively, hes a mess....Brandan Wright is an intriguing prospect with good upside. Hes very long and has a very nice jumpshot. Defensively his length causes problems. Unfortunately hes also very weak and his lack of strength will always be a problem....Carl Landry is a role player. Landry is a bench scorer who can really score in bunches down low. He isn't a great rebounder and while his positional defense is pretty good he wont block or steal much...Glen Davis is an offensive player that is never really shows any effort on defense. Davis can score down low, and has a nice jumpshot. His defense is probably poor enough to make him a career backup though...Josh McRoberts is a pretty nice player. Don't expect too much from him, but he can do a little bit of everything and would be a nice late 1st or early 2nd Round pick...
Small Forwards...
Thaddeus Young is a long athletic player that has problems with his shooting. His athleticism is through the roof. His offense is raw, but he shows signs of putting everything together and being an elite type player...Julian Wright is extremely athletic and really thrives in an up tempo offense. He cant shoot much and that will hinder him in the pros. Defensively he should be a plus player...Corey Brewer is a plus defender with very nice athleticism. Offensively hes very raw and his jumpshot is just ugly...Al Thornton is a pretty electric offense player. He can score inside and out, and he doesn't turn it over much either. he also doesn't like to pass or play much defense...Jeff Green is a multi talented player that can do a little bit of everything. Offensively he can play any number of positions. He rebounds well enough to play a forward position, and he passes well enough to bring the ball up. Defensively he is sub par, but he has some intriguing qualities....Wilson Chandler is a defensive minded player that loves to scrap and fight. He isnt a top tier shot blocker or defender yet, but he should be very good in those categories eventually. Offensively he plays smart...Jared Dudley is a pretty solid 2 way player. Dudley can score and defend and is also a very nice ball handler. Should be a solid backup and a good late 1st Round selection...
Shooting Guards...
Rodney Stuckey is a pretty solid combo guard. He has a great midrange game and is a good passer for a taller guard. Not a great defender and also a pretty mediocre athlete...Rudy Fernandez is a superb offensive player. He loves to have the ball in his hands and he does a great job creating shots for himself and others. He is also a bit turnover prone and he is pretty bad defensively...Daequan Cook an extremely good shooter that may not have the athleticism to succeed at the next level...Nick Young is a pretty explosive scorer that loves the ball in his hands. He can create his own shot, and can score inside and out. Passing and defense are things Young doesn't think too highly of...
Point Guards...
Mike Conley is the best looking pure PG in the draft. he can do everything youd like to see out of a lead guard. He can pass, handle and shoot. Should go late lotto and be a good pick...Aaron Brooks is a solid supremely quick player. He is a good shooter and passer but he tends to make poor decisions with the ball. More likely a very good backup combo guard then a true starting PG...Ramon Sessions is a fun looking player. Sessions is a decent scorer who is super quick and a solid passer. He does have some ball handling issues but his plus defense makes up for any handling flaws...Javaris Crittenton is extremely raw. He's very quick and very athletic. He never had much success in college and most scouts think he is declaring too early...Petteri Koponen is a tall point guard with a nice midrange game. Pretty athletic, Koponens flaws or mostly on defense. He isn't especially strong and really doesn't concentrate as much on the defensive end...
