Al Thornton Small Forward 6'8" 220 Florida State Rookie RatingsB B- C- C+ C- B StrengthsNice combination of hops, length, strength and athleticism. Thornton has a good first step and finishes well in traffic. He has a consistent face up jumper and should be able to develop a consistent pro 3pt shot as well. He's also shown some perimeter defensive capability and some shot blocking ability as well. WeaknessesLike most of today's prospects, he relied heavily on his superior athleticism in college and is still quite raw by pro standards. He can be rather clumsy at times--dropping passes and forcing up bad shots. He has a tendency to pick up stupid fouls at times, and his rebounding is also well below average for a man with his strength and size. OutlookWhile he is a pro caliber athlete and could easily reach double figures in scoring even as a 6th man, he needs work on literally every other aspect of his game if he hopes to have a successful pro career.
