Draft Ratings: C+ B- C C D A
Strengths:
- Explosive athleticism, best among PG's in his class.
- Excellent driver
- Good shooter off the dribble and off the pass.
- Great finisher and natural scorer
- Good length for a pg with a wingspan of 6'6
Cons:
- Displays poor shot selection at times
- Shooting Guard mentality in a Point Guard's body.
- Doesn't have the passing ability you expect from a Point Guard
- His inability to make his teammates better. He rather shoot than pass.
- Maturity, something you always worry about when a player makes the jump from High School.
- Poor Defender, shouldn't be the case with the athleticism he possesses.
- Horrible rebounder, even for a Point Guard.
Perception:
Great High School player, but many scouts believe he'd be better served to take the college route and honor his commitment to the University of Georgia. The skills he possesses are that of a Shooting Guard, which makes it hard for a player of his size to translate his game into success in the pros. He's going to have to tone down his poor shot selection and try harder to involve his teammates. He'll probably be nothing more than a good 6th man or role player but the potential for improvement is there. Scouts wouldn't be surprised to see someone late in the lotto take a flier on him. Mid to Late First round seems more realistic for him though. Looks like college is the way to go.
