Greatest football game of all time?

It was definitely great for its time. It's greatness has been way overblown now because of the monopoly EA has over NFL games, but it was definitely amazing. Wouldn't play it now though. It's kind of like Goldeneye for N64. Fucking amazing at the time and was like the epitome of shooters and now it's always referenced like "omg goldeneye is the greatest what a fucking sick game" but when you go back and play it now, it's like, eh, this was better 10 years ago, fuck this, I'm going to go play some COD.

True. Same can be said for Halo. I remember how much fun the first one was, but after dling it on XBL it just didn't seem the same. If madden could somehow take some aspects of the 2K franchise (presentation, AI) they could be A LOT better.

Not saying it wasn't awesome but god damn.

No it isn't. The game is fucking outdated and outclassed by almost every top notch FPS these days.
I LOVED Goldeneye more than any other game when I was younger, but there is no comparison with it and a game like CODMW2. It's not even close.

If you look @ the series as a whole, there wasn't much variation in it (2K series) I think the big reasons it gets the rep it does is it catalyzed the exclusive license by EA.

I haven't played a MP that great.

Nobody can shit on Goldeneye. That was the mother of all games. Anyone remember TimeSplitters on the PS1 (I think)? Lol I used to love that too.

Actually, what got me in to COD in the first place was I played Quantum of Solace online and thought it was sick. Uses the same engine as COD, but it just reminded me so much of Goldeneye. I played it loads and then people said try COD and World at War was the latest one at the time so didn't look back to 4 until later.

Also, why the hell doesn't MW2 have a weapon spawning game mode? Everyone starts with a pistol and you have weapon spawn points around the maps. That would be class. Goldeneye use to be like that didn't it? And they have different game modes on Quantum of Solace that's worth checking out too.
