Pro's: At just 19 years of age, Amare Stoudemire's physical tools absolutely wow scouts. Stoudemire is strong, agile and can jump out of the gym. He is a new age of a big man––we haven't seen a power forward with his physical skills since Kevin Garnett. In addition to his physical tools, Stoudemire is an excellent inside scorer and has a dependable15-18 foot jump shot. He has a lot of room to grow and the has the potential to be a 25-30 ppg scorer on the right team.
Con's: For all his athletic gifts, there are still a lot of holes in Stoudemire's game. As he is right now, Amare is completely one-dimesional. He loses concentration regularly on the defensive end and is an atrocious rebounder. While he does have the potential to get better in those areas, it's hard to see him ever developing into a great rebounder or defender. He also is a poor passer.
Overall: Amare should be a top 5 pick. Even though he is not a good rebounder or defender, there is no question he will be a dominant offensive force.
