1.
Detroit Pistons
Dirk Nowitzki PF 7'0'' 237 20 B- B C- C C+ A
Dirk Nowitzki is the #1 pick regardless of who wins the lotto. He can score inside and out and he can board. Not a great defender, but he has the ability to be a true #1 option and that's rare. Expect him to be a 25+ PPG type guy and grab 10 boards a night in his prime. All Star player. For Detroit, Dirk could team with Eddie Elisma to make a super forward combo, and with Stephen Jackson to form a great inside outside scoring combo.
2.
Atlanta Hawks
Paul Pierce SF 6'6'' 230 21 B- B- C+ C+ C A
The Hawks need a franchise guy to build around and Paul Pierce is just that. Pierce can do a little bit of everything. He can score inside and out, pass and should be a solid defender one day. Should be someone that can score 22 PPG with 5 boards and 5 dimes. Very good player and the first piece to the hawks rebuild.
3.
Minnesota Timberwolves
Antawn Jamison PF 6'8'' 223 22 B- C+ C- C B- A
The Wolves need some good young talent as they enter their 2nd year of rebuilding. Antawn Jamison is a very good scorer who can play 2 positions. Jamison is also a very good rebounder. Expect Jamison to be a 20-10 guy and be a top 3 option throughout his career. His defense is questionable but the other facets of his game should be enough for him to always be a big factor.
4.
San Antonio Spurs
Mike Bibby PG 6'1'' 190 20 C B+ C+ C D+ A
The Spurs don't need a PG with current ROY Chauncey Billups already on the squad, but they cant pass on Bibby here. They either trade Bibby or Billups or they consider Billups at SG, but Bibby shouldn't drop below 4. Mike Bibby is a very good shooter and ball handler that should be a top 10 PG in BBS someday. Not a great defender, his ability to score, pass and handle should be enough to overlook his defense.
5.
Oklahoma City Thunder
Rashard Lewis SF 6'10'' 215 19 C B C C C- A
The Thunder are in a tough spot here. They need a player that can either help them right away, or that they can deal to get better. Well Lewis is the BPA here, but he cant help them right away. Hes gonna take a long time to develop. He has some very good skills, and a ton of upside but he will need a lot of work. Long term best case scenario has Lewis turning out something like C+ A- C B+ C. Expect the Thunder to float this pick in trade scenarios to get better.
6.
New Jersey Nets (from the Milwaukee Bucks)
Larry Hughes SG 6'5'' 185 19 B- C C B- C A
The Nets are an ascending team so much like the Thunder they need immediate help, or someone they can deal for immediate help. Here with Larry Hughes they get a limited offensive player that should be a very good defender some day. Hughes has a pretty rough jump shot, but he is a good ball handler and he can get to the rim. Hughes should make his money as a lock down defender some day.
7.
Philadelphia 76ers
Michael Olowokandi C 7'0'' 269 23 C+ C- D+ B- B- A
The Sixers have a young star in Antoine Walker, now they need to improve their defense and rebounding. They do both with the Kandi Man. Olowokandi can defend and board with the best of this draft class and should be someone that grabs 10 boards a night and blocks 2 shots a night.
8.
Houston Rockets
Al Harrington PF 6'9'' 230 18 C+ B- C C C A
The Rockets need some players with upside and Al Harrington best fits that here. Harrington is anything but a sure thing, but he can score and he has some ability to become a plus rebounder at SF. Maybe expect him to grow into a combo forward backup role, possibly a starter at SF, but this all depends on his development and the use of RCs.
9.
New Orleans Hornets
Raef LaFrentz C 6'11'' 240 22 C+ C+ C- B- C+ A
The Hornets like players that can shoot, and few big men can shoot like LaFrentz. LaFrentz is a solid jump shooter and has range out to the 3 point line. He is also a very good rebounder and he can block some shots. He should be a very good pick at 9.
10.
Milwaukee Bucks (from the Boston Celtics)
Michael Dickerson SG 6'5'' 190 23 B- B- D+ C D+ A
The Bucks need young players to build around. Here they get a young SG that could be special. Dickerson is a very good scoring spect with limited ball handling and defensive skills. He can score inside and out, but hes much better with someone who can create for him on the court along side him.
11.
Orlando Magic
Ruben Patterson SF 6'5'' 224 23 B- C C- A- C B
The Magic want some top tier young talent, but wont find that here. Instead they get a very solid young player that could be a start at SF. Patterson wont wow anyone offensively, but he can defend with the best of them and he has a little bit of upside.
12.
Philadelphia 76ers (from the Los Angeles Clippers)
Cuttino Mobley SG 6'4'' 190 23 C B+ C C+ D+ B
The Sixers look here for a complimentary scorer to Antoine Walker. In Cat Mobley they get a smart player who can shoot. While he shouldn't be an All Star type player he should be a solid starter who can score and defend a little.
13.
Dallas Mavericks (from the New Jersey Nets)
Nazr Mohammed C 6'10'' 221 20 C+ D+ D B B B
The Mavs love to draft big men that can board. Mohammed is just that. He could be a 10 board guy with the right minutes, and while he is a solid defender he doesn't block many shots. Expect Mohammed to either be a very good backup, or a decent starter in the league.
14. Chicago Bulls (from the Washington Wizards) - Matt Harpring SF 6'7'' 231 22 B C C- B C+ B
15. Toronto Raptors - Ricky Davis SG 6'6'' 195 19 B B C- C D+ B
16. Dallas Mavericks - Bonzi Wells SG 6'5'' 210 22 B C C- C+ C B
17. Dallas Mavericks (from the Memphis Grizzlies) - Jason Williams PG 6'1'' 190 22 C B- B- C D+ B
18. Dallas Mavericks (from the Golden State Warriors) - Robert Traylor PF 6'8'' 284 21 B- C- D+ B- C+ B
19. Chicago Bulls (from the Indiana Pacers) - Rasho Nesterovic C 7'0'' 248 22 C+ C- C- B+ C+ B
20. Los Angeles Lakers - Rafer Alston PG 6'2'' 171 22 C C+ B- C D+ B
21. Denver Nuggets (from the Portland Trail Blazers) - Greg Buckner SG 6'4'' 210 22 C+ B C- B+ C C
22. Detroit Pistons (from the Miami Heat) - Vladimir Stepania C 7'0'' 236 22 C+ C- D+ B C+ C
23. Orlando Magic (from the Charlotte Bobcats) - Brian Skinner PF 6'9'' 255 22 B- C- D+ B- C+ B
24. Atlanta Hawks (from the Chicago Bulls) - Keon Clark PF 6'11'' 220 23 B- C- C- B C+ B
25. Atlanta Hawks (from the Cleveland Cavaliers) - Jerome James C 7'0'' 300 22 C+ D+ D- B- C+ C
26. Denver Nuggets - Ryan Bowen SF 6'7'' 215 22 C+ C C A- C C
27. Atlanta Hawks (from the New York Knicks) - Jahidi White C 6'9'' 290 22 C+ C- D B- C+ C
28. Minnesota Timberwolves (from the Phoenix Suns) - Michael Doleac C 6'11'' 262 21 B- C D C+ C+ C
29. Dallas Mavericks (from the Utah Jazz) - Mirsad Turkcan SF 6'9'' 236 22 B- C D+ C C B
