1. Utah Jazz - Steve Nash PG 6'3'' 195 22 C B+ B+ C D A
The number 1 pick this year is a toss up. Any of the top 3 spects could go #1 and would be a good selection. So essentially you can go for need here. The Jazz need a PG and there are few better then Steve Nash. Nash is a great passer, ball handler and shooter. He should be an elite type offense guard for many years to come. His defense is a flaw, but his offense should more then make up for it.
2. Cleveland Cavaliers - Vince Carter SG 6'7'' 215 19 B+ C+ C C C A
The Cavs just need to add the best talent available. VC is a good fit here. Either they deal him for immediate help or they plug him in on the wing and combine him with 2 other young superstars in Jason Kidd and Tim Duncan. Carter should be an elite type scorer, with 1st option type scoring ability. Not a great defender but his offensive ability and his dunking ability should more then make up for it.
3. LA Clippers - Ray Allen SG 6'5'' 205 21 C A- C C D A
The Clippers get a great young shooter in Ray Allen. Allen doesn't go to the rim as much as you'd like, and cant defend as well as you'd like but he can shoot the lights out. Allen is already a great shooter and should only get better. Expect him to win multiple 3 point shootout awards.
4. Houston Rockets - Ben Wallace C 6'9'' 240 22 C D C A- B A
The Rockets need immediate help and no one offers that at this spot like Ben Wallace. Big Ben can come in and be an immediate force defensively and grab a ton of boards. Expect Wallace to be a top shot blocker and rebounder for the entirety of his career.
5. LA Lakers - Jermaine O'Neal PF 6'11'' 226 18 C+ C- C- B- B- A
JO is a nice prospect with upside. He should be a very good post scorer and defender with the ability to grab 10 boards a game. O'Neal is obviously very raw and whoever drafts him will need some patience.
6. Miami Heat - Joe Smith PF 6'10'' 225 21 B- C D+ B- C+ A
Joe Smith is a solid PF with a nice offensive game. Smith also has the ability to become a better then average defender. Expect Smith to be a 15-10 type player for the Heat.
7. Golden State Warriors - Stephon Marbury PG 6'2'' 180 19 B- C+ B- C D+ A
Warriors could use a star type offensive player and Starbury might just be the answer. A big time scorer, Marbury can get to the rim, pull up for a midrange jumper or bomb it from distance. He can do everything offensively. Defense is another story. He just doesn't show the desire to ever be good defensively.
8. New Orleans Hornets - Shareef Abdur-Rahim PF 6'9'' 225 19 B+ C C- C C+ B
SAR is a big time scorer. He can post up, or face up and create off the dribble. he also has a nice jumpshot from 20 feet in. Very crafty player that should get 20 PPG. Mediocre rebounder. Probably better suited for SF because of his lack of defense.
9. New Jersey Nets - Marcus Camby C 6'11'' 220 21 C+ C C- B+ C+ B
Camby is so valuable because of his ability to block shots. He isn't a special offensive player but his blocks and rebounding make him a very nice pick here.
10. Milwaukee Bucks - Zydrunas Ilgauskas C 7'3'' 238 21 B C D+ B- C+ B
Big Z has great size and a nice post game. Z is also a nice spot up shooter, even out to 3 point range. Z isnt athletic and that could limit his upside. Worst case he has 12-8 ability.
11. Charlotte Bobcats - Peja Stojakovic SF 6'9'' 220 19 C A C C C- B
Peja is a big time shooter. He doesn't really create his own shot, but he can spot up and be a big time scorer on the right team. Not a defender or rebounder, Peja will earn his check on offense.
12. Boston Celtics - Erick Dampier C 6'11'' 265 21 C+ D+ D+ B B- B
The Celtics could really use a top option scorer, but nothing like that is available here. Instead they go with a capable rebounder and defender in Dampier. Damp should be a starter in BBS, giving around 10-10.
13. Indiana Pacers - Derek Fisher PG 6'1'' 200 22 C B C+ C+ D+ B
The Pacers have some trouble at PG so they get the best one available here in Derek Fisher. Fisher is a solid shooter and scrappy defender that has a little upside to get better. Very smart and active, Fisher should be a nice bench player at the least.
14. Charlotte Bobcats (from the Memphis Grizzlies) - Jerome Williams PF 6'9'' 205 23 C+ C- C- B B B
The Bobcats need talent everywhere. Here they get a solid active bench player that can defend and board. The Junkyard Dog isn't known for his offense, but he will fight and scarp on the defensive end. Should be a very good backup.
15. LA Lakers ( from the Oklahoma City Thunder) - Walter McCarty SF 6'10'' 230 22 C B- D+ B C B
Lakers add a solid versatile bench player in Walter McCarty. McCarty can play 3 or 4 and can really shoot. McCarty is pretty good from 3 point land and also has the ability to be quite pesky on defense.
