Broph #11: 607 George Gervin SF 28 6'7'' 180 A- A C A C C
607 George Gervin SF 82 38.4 32.4 6.2 2.9 1.1 1.1 1.9 .475 .817 .440
Gervin is a stud, making himself into one of the top players in the league at this point, he defends, and scores extremely well, and, as an SG his rebounding is pretty good. Really has no weaknesses to his game at all, but being a non great rebounding wing he kinda just falls here.
Repole: #12. Bobby Jones SF 27 6'9'' 210 B C+ C- A B- C
Bobby Jones SF 82 38.7 16.2 9.0 1.5 2.3 2.7 0.4 .509 .896 .286
So Broph tends to think Bobby Jones is overrated, that his stat defense looks nice, but that he routinely gets torched on the defensive end by SFs. Even if that's the case, it can clearly be overcome, as the Blazers have the best defense in the league, and I think Jones' shot blocking and steals are a big part of that. He's the perfect role player by my estimation, not a great scorer but he's efficient on that end, and he's great everwhere else. Locked up for a while, only 27, I'm sure he has a ton of value around the league.
Broph#13: 548 Micheal Ray Richardson PG 25 6'5'' 189 B A- A+ A C B
Micheal Ray Richardson PG 77 38.4 19.1 5.6 12.3 2.5 2.1 2.5 .439 .826 .377
MRR fell here prior to his resigning in FA, and as such probably goes a little higher, he falls right behind Bobby Jones with his steals and blocks at PG, great rebounding, and an all around nice player. The issue is, he isn’t really all that special offensively, meh percentages at best, if he sorts out the offense, MRR is gonna shoot up into the top 10 easily. That 2046 draft was loaded, with 4 players in the top 14 with Repoles next pick
Repole: #14. Alex English SF 25 6'7'' 190 A- A C C+ C+ A
Alex English SF 81 38.5 33.6 7.0 4.0 1.8 0.2 2.3 .458 .904 .412
His TCs have been a bit mediocre after his initial breakout, but there's no denying his value as a volume scorer. I think he's still perceived to have a good amount of upside left as well, which obviously helps his value. If and when his percentages get in check, he's essentially last year's Mike Glenn in a different position, with the added bonus of being a quality rebounder. I don't personally love his game, but I think most of the league would be eager to get a shot at acquiring him.
Broph#15: 193 Lloyd Neal PF 29 6'7'' 225 B C C- A B+ D
193 Lloyd Neal PF 82 37.4 19.0 11.7 1.8 0.5 3.7 1.4 .445 .857 .000
Neal is Tree lite, he does everything Tree does, but he is just a bit worse. Percentages were kinda meh this year, but he shot around 7.7 FT’s a game, and is a nice FT shooter. Rebounds better than his averages, is an elite shot blocker, and though he is 28 (now 29). Being a big who rebounds blocks shots and isn’t a horrific offensive player is a huge plus.
Repole: #16. Maurice Cheeks PG 23 6'1'' 180 B B A- A C- A
Maurice Cheeks PG 66 37.7 22.3 4.7 9.5 1.8 0.1 2.6 .435 .827 .357
A few seasons ago I questioned Andy's selection of Cheeks ahead of a few other players. As it turns out, it looks like Cheeks had pretty big upside to him, and he's a nice TC or so away from being a great PG. The low turnovers are great, he can grab a few steals, and the volume scoring is solid. When his outside shot comes around in a season or two he'll easily be a top 5 PG, and there's no questioning how much value that has in BBS.
Broph#17: 356 M.L. Carr SF 29 6'6'' 205 A- A- C+ A+ B+ C
356 M.L. Carr SF 85 37.9 28.1 9.4 3.5 1.4 2.0 2.0 .448 .941 .439
Carr fell too far, Im gonna say that now, he is worth more than Neal, and probably a few other guys in front of him, but, in drafting players are gonna fall some, and Carr falls because you have two TS% guys drafting. He isn’t a big, and his offensive efficiency has never really been special, but, he does everything you could want out of a wing with his rebounding defense and volume. Kinda stupid we let him fall to here, but he did, so oh well. Great player, and a guy the Pistons will need to carry them through their CY.
Repole: #18. Gus Williams PG 26 6'2'' 175 A- C+ A A C- B
Gus Williams PG 82 37.6 25.2 4.2 10.2 1.8 0.2 2.1 .465 .852 .361
I don't really like Gus all that much. He scores some, but it's not great efficiency wise, he doesn't really rebound, and his steals aren't spectacular. He puts up solid volume though and doesn't turn the ball over, and I think his value around the league is pumped up by the Play hype machine. I've always been amused by how Play manages to make guys valuable simply by acting like they're elite when it comes to talking trade, regardless of if they are or not. Gus is a top 10 PG, but I don't think he's anything special. My opinion isn't in line with the rest of BBS however, so Gus finds himself a spot in the top 20.
Broph #19: 349 Bernard King SF 23 6'7'' 205 A- B- D+ B- B A
349 Bernard King SF 69 37.4 27.0 8.3 2.0 1.3 0.2 1.8 .509 .867 .375
King is sick, but falls just because of the bad team means more scoring question, and a lack of D. He rebounds well, scores at sick percentages, and with volume. He doesn’t appear to be finished improving either, though it has been three TC’s. Great offensive player, and yet again probably should be higher, but, he is a wing, and PG’s and PF/C’s right now are the big positions.
Repole: #20. Dan Roundfield C 26 6'8'' 205 B+ C D A A- B
Dan Roundfield C 37 34.4 15.7 12.4 1.9 0.9 3.9 1.7 .438 .839 .000
Ranking Dan was tough. Last year the concensus was that he was too high, and then he went out and proved himself to be one of the best bigs on the boards and blocking shots in the league. I think at this point he's established himself as an incredibly valuable piece to a team, his offense isn't great, but on the whole he's not that much different from a guy like Dickey. If you want offense Dan isn't your guy, but if you don't need scoring it's hard to find a better fit up front.
