The 2047 class looked nice coming out but it had more than its share of busts. It also had its share of pleasant surprises but there has been no clear cut superstar to come out of the class. Next to the player's new draft position is his old draft position and the team that drafted him. 3 Nuggets in the top 11. Typical Greeme bias??
Mock drafts - bbs2010.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rcs&action=display&thread=22274 bbs2010.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rcs&action=display&thread=22253
1. 2. Boston Celtics - Bernard King SF 6'7'' 205 20 A- C D+ C C A
Current ratings - A- B- D+ B- B A
The draft lacks an all around superstar and King is the best of the bunch. He could still get better. At this point, he is first and foremost a scorer. He score over 27 ppg and shot over 50% from the field. Really good rebounder also for a sf with 8.3 a game. His stats d is low and his man to man probably isn't great. 1.8 topg isn't horrible but isn't a positive either.
2. 8. San Antonio Spurs - Terry Tyler PF 6'7'' 215 21 B- C D+ A C+ B
Current ratings - B+ C D+ A B- B
A great role player type. Great defender, stats and otherwise. Good rebounder for a sf. Meh offensively but other guys can pick up the slack there. Wouldn't go this high in most other drafts but in this one I have him at number 2.
3. 10. Denver Nuggets - T.R. Dunn SG 6'4'' 192 22 B C C A- C+ A
Current ratings - A- C C A C+ B
Brophing Alert!! Possible Greeme bias.
I love TR Dunn. I could easily have put him at #1. He is possibly the most complete player in the draft. He can volume score with good %s. Good rebounder for a sg, low tos and high steals. Not sure what would happen to his volume as a starter and he doesn’t have a good 3pt shot but still a stud.
4. 4. Indiana Pacers - Michael Cooper SG 6'5'' 170 21 C+ C+ C+ B C+ A
Current ratings - B+ B B- A- C+ B
He seems that he is right on the verge of becoming a star. One good tc could push him over the top. I would love to get him on my team. He doesn't currently score at a high volume, which is a shame bc his %s are solid. Above avg stats defender. Decent rebounder. He is a solid player but needs a good tc to take the next step.
5. 3. Houston Rockets - Marques Johnson SF 6'7'' 218 21 B+ C+ C B- C A
Current ratings - A- B C B C B
I am sure that some people have him over cooper but I look at the ratings and the stats and I don't see it. Really does nothing very well. I wouldn't trade the next guy on the list for him but whatever.
6. 1. Phoenix Suns - Jack Sikma C 6'11'' 230 22 C+ B D+ B B+ A
Current ratings - B- B D+ B+ B+ B
Jack seems to only have one gm that still likes him in this league. That would be me. Former #1 pick that has done little in the league. His %s seem to indicate that he is on the cusp of a b+ outside and his rebounding numbers probably have him on the cusp of an A- rebounding. He would look a lot better with a few acs. He is not without problems. He is a good 3 pt shooter but won't shoot the three often as a center. He played well down the stretch at the 2/3 but idk if he can shut down quick players with three pt shots. His 2 main flaws are the lack of volume and lack of blocks. I think that if he gets his volume up he could be a force at sf or even at sg in the right matchups.
7. 13. Indiana Pacers - Mike Glenn PG 6'2'' 175 22 C+ A- C C D B
Current ratings - C+ A- C C+ D+ C
He shoots well and scores. Tos are solid for a pg. His rebounding and defense really shouldn't be mentioned.
8. 17. Chicago Bulls - Glen Gondrezick SF 6'6'' 218 22 B C C B B B
Current ratings - A- C+ C B- B+ C
I like Glen. He reminds me of Mcmillian. Nice %s, can't hit a three, good rebounder, not much of a defender. He could start on some teams but will be a 6th/7th player on better teams.
9. 9. New York Knicks - Otis Birdsong SG 6'3'' 190 21 B+ B C C D+ A
Current ratings - B+ A- C C+ D+ B
Not a fan. Weak on the boards. Good but not great %s. Not a good defender, though the steals are ok. Dime a dozen sg imo. Personally I would take Cooper before him but I realize that I am probably in the minority.
10. 12. San Antonio Spurs - Wayne Cooper C 6'10'' 220 20 C+ C- D+ A- B B
Current ratings - C+ D+ D+ A- B+ C
Blocks/defense/rebounding. Sucks on offense but doesn't chuck up shots. Doesn't turn the ball over too much.
11. 7. Cleveland Cavs - Norm Nixon PG 6'2'' 170 22 C+ C+ B B+ D A
Current ratings - C+ B A- B+ D- C
Meh. I thought that he would be a lot better. 2 straight disappointing tcs left his ratings looking meh. BUT he has shown an ability to score with solid %s and his tos at pg are solid. He has never really gotten a chance to play in this league and when he plays, he significantly outplays his ratings. I'm still hoping that a big tc will save him and save me from having to rebuild but we all know that won't happen.
12. 19 Portland Trail Blazers - Mark Landsberger PF 6'8'' 215 22 B- D D B+ A- B
Current ratings - B D+ C- A- A- C
Good backup big. If he could block he would be Waynce cooper but he can't. still a good backup but no more than that.
13. 5. Washington Wizards - Cedric Maxwell SF 6'8'' 205 21 B+ C C- B- C+ A
Current ratings - A- C+ D+ B C+ C
Possibly the most disappointing player in the class. Doesn't play up to his ratings. I wouldn't even have him in the lotto most years but I'm not a fan of the players after him either.
14. 6. Dallas Mavericks - Walter Davis SG 6'6'' 193 23 B B C+ C+ D+ A
15. 14. LA Clippers - Brad Davis PG 6'3'' 180 21 B B B C D+ B
16. 22 New York Knicks - Jeff Wilkins C 6'11'' 230 22 B C- C- B B C
17. 23 Boston Celtics - Wilson Washington PF 6'9'' 227 22 C+ C- D+ B C+ A
18. 28 Indiana Pacers - Robert Reid SF 6'8'' 205 22 B C+ D+ B+ C B

20. 18 Toronto Raptors - Eddie Johnson PG 6'2'' 180 22 B C+ B B- D B
21. 4. (second rd) Washington Wizards - Ernie Grunfeld SG 6'6'' 210 22 C+ B+ C+ C+ C B
