1. How was your July 4th?
Very nice, grilled some ribs,sausage and just took it easy pretty much.
2. You are in your CY...do you plan to just get by or contend for a title? What is your direction for your team, especially beyond this season if you do make your CY?
I hope to contend. Hence the move for Denton. I think I could have won 42 with Corzine, but I'm looking further than that and still looking to add. Think with Mo,Denton and Bing we can do some damage.
I'm shooting to contend for as long as I can. With Mo and Denton wrapped up for awhile I just have to fill in the gaps best I can.
3. Moses Malone is one of your favorite players in real life.. how did that came to be? Did you grow up watching him play? Do you plan to keep him here in BBS until he retires as a Mav?
Yea, I'm old. I did grow up watching him play.
I liked him when he was on the Rockets and then was thrilled when he went to Philly and got a ring for him and the Doc. He was amazing in RL.
He took a pretty mediocre Rockets team to the finals against the Celtics and they played them tough. I just loved his passion for the game. Especially off rebounding. He was a beast. He would practice in the offseason missing the shot and gettting boards. The theory is that he would miss shots intentionally and knew the bounces so well and would be in position to grab the off rebound and score when the defender was recovering from trying to block his previous shot, it was usually an easy putback. I'll keep him until he retires or I get a killer offer.
4. What are your teams strengths and weaknesses? What positions do you need to improve the most and do you plan to solve those issues this season?
Strength's are obviously upfront now with Mo and Dent. Also at PG with Bing. I've been pleasantly surprised by Irvine so I think I'm ok there. Would like an affordable vet at SF. Natt shows flashes but he is a rookie. Probably another outside type guy for the 3 would be ideal.
Little more pop off the bench.
5. You recently traded Dave Corzine in a package deal for Randy Denton... what were your motives behind this deal? Do you think you have one of the best frontcourts in the league now?
Yea, I think so. Mo and Denton is pretty damn good. I like Dave, and he may turn out very good but Bing is old so the window is now.
6. You once had David Thompson for 3 seasons but shipped him to Memphis for George Irvine... did you feel like he was a bust? Did you regret having him on your team at the time?
I traded for Thompson thinking he had potential to get better since he was such a badass in RL. I was wrong on that apparently.
His jumping must not be that high since he was never in slamdunk contest which I dont get. He had legendary hops. Rumor has it he could jump and touch the top of the backboard. An electric scorer before the drugs ruined him.
Apparently not in BBS though. I gambled and lost.
7. Describe each GM in your division using one word.
Ugh,really? I'll try but I suck at this kinda shit.

8. Give us your thoughts on the NBA's Dallas Mavericks...After being swept in the playoffs by OKC, what issues should be addressed and what moves do you hope or expect to happen during the summer? How do you feel about Deron Williams not signing with you guys?
Bad situation. They chose not to resign some guys that was integral to their WC run in order to make a free agent splash ala the Heat for Williams and Howard and it didn't work. They had all their eggs in one basket on that and it was pretty stupid. I think it may be time to tear it down now. They really have no trade chips to speak of and Dirk is getting older. Much as I hate to say it I think I'd move Dirk and tank. I believe Dallas has their picks.
9. This question is from Aars article... If you could build a team with a minimum 48 million budget (without going over the salary cap), what players would you have?
Damn, lemme think. I'll do the starters how's that.

Yea, With Magic,Doc,et al it sure looks like the recipe is there.

No, still hoping he will be eventually.
He still is just 24 though so there's hope.

Not sure, probably Mo.
14. We recently exceeded 1 million posts... how do you feel about the league as a whole atm? If you could improve anything around here, what would it be?
Not much, seems pretty good. I still think a 30 minute time limit before draft starts after lotto for trade talk.
And better draft notes.
Lemme know Davis is gonna suck for chrisakes!
