40. Elvin Hayes C 32 6'9'' 235 B+ C C- A+ A C
Make no mistake, Hayes is a much better player than the majority of the guys in front of him, but the fact of the matter is his contract makes him nearly impossible to trade and he just doesn't have value around the league. I don't think Skillz will regret dealing for him, Hayes still has a huge impact on the game.
39. Bob McAdoo SF 27 6'9'' 210 A- C C B+ A- C
I think McAdoo's value took a pretty decent sized hit last year, going from a guy who shot 50% while putting up 23 a game to 46% and 18. A lot of that was circumstance, and we should see a nice bounce back year from Bob this season. Make no mistake though, he needs to be at SF to be effective.
38. Sonny Parker SF 23 6'6'' 200 A- C B- A- B- B
Lost in the Celtics roster turnover hype is a guy who quietly put up 21 a game last year on 52% shooting. He's like a more awesome version of the George Trapp that started for the Bingo Magic a few years back. I think the assumption however is that he doesn't have a ton of upside left, needs to be in an inside offense to be effective, and likely won't ever be a really prolific scorer. That unfortunately limits his value a bit, but for a young team looking to go inside, he'd be a perfect third option.
37. Maurice Cheeks PG 22 6'1'' 180 B- B- B+ A- C- A
A solid first TC and the expectation that he'll be rock solid at PG puts Cheeks here. He should be steady at the PG spot, but I really don't think there's an expectation of stardom around the league for him (outside of Andy). I could be wrong on that, and if I am he should be higher.
36. Micheal Ray Richardson PG 23 6'5'' 189 B B+ A A C B
MRR is a bit of an enigma. An excellent defender who gives blocks, steals, and rebounds, he struggles a bit on the other end. The turnovers look like they're starting to get under control, but it's looking less and less likely that he becomes much of a scorer. If you don't need offense from the PG spot though, it's hard to think of a better guy to run your team.
35. Dave Cowens PF 30 6'9'' 230 B C B B+ A C
Cowens is a season or two from breaking that age barrier where a guy seems to lose all value. For now, he's an elite rebounder who blocks shots and doesn't really have a true flaw. He's not great on offense but he won't hurt you, and he's signed for two years at reasonable money.
34. Bill Willoughby C 21 6'8'' 205 A- C C B+ C+ A
Awesome shot blocker who can score inside a bit. The only concern is he's not much of a rebounder and may have to play SF due to that, where his best trait gets a bit surpressed. Curious to how much he'll develop over the next few seasons.
33. Lloyd Neal C 27 6'7'' 225 B C D+ A A- C
Neal's value has seen better days, but he's still a guy who scores the ball ok and does a great job on the defensive end. There was a time where he looked like the next big thing, but that just never really materialized, similar to Walton.
32. Pete Maravich SG 31 6'5'' 197 B+ A B A- C- B
He's slowly turned into an awesome scorer, after leaving Jay of course. His steals are elite and his turnovers are under control, so there's a lot to like about Pistol at this point. Still, he's getting up there in age, and he's a bit of a poor rebounder for his position.
31. Clifford Ray C 29 6'9'' 230 B+ C- D+ A+ A- C
Absolute stud defender, great on the glass, and shoots an awesome percentage. He's similar to Roundfield productoin wise, except he actually puts the ball in the hoop efficiently. That said, he is expiring, and 29 is right around when a guy starts losing value.
