1. Looking at your roster, your thought process has to be Bird, Magic or bust...right?
I guess you can say that. Obviously I’d love either guy and I’ll be upset if I end up with the 3rd pick or some bullshit like that but the draft isn’t just those two. It has some talent after that, at least up top. Thompson, Theus and Cheeks are guys that would fit right now. Bird and Magic are definitely franchise altering players though. I'd love to end up my tanking year with Magic at PG. That's some sexy shit right there.
2. Hate to say it.. but as the original Pistons GM, you take on sole responsibility for having one of the worst franchises this league has seen. What gives?
My FBB luck has been hardcore bad. I mean, how does one never land the top pick in the draft? With that said, I obviously have not done a good job either. My trades have been sub par and my free agent signings have been ass cheeks for the most part. It’s funny, I went through a stretch where I really just want to quit because of how bad I was doing. I decided to just say fuck it and put in a little more time into it. I feel like I’m doing a little better now then before. Hopefully that’ll show with some rings. Fuck that. I will get at least one more ring before this league ends.
3. You seem to escape the criticisms that plague guys like Biggie in spite of having #s that are the same or even worse. Are you surprised a league that is quick to jump on necks has kept quiet about your mishaps?
I don’t do/say stupid shit on a consistent basis though. I’ve had some horrible trades but for the most part, the deals I make are fairly even. I’m fairly easy to talk to. I also have a run and have made a couple of finals runs. 4 I believe. Might be 3. I mean, I can’t say I completely escape mishaps but I guess you can also say I don’t get it as bad as someone like Biggie. With that said, a few guys have seen me at my best so they know I’m capable. Just slacking or fell off.
4. Now that you have your picks, what can we expect from Andy in a few years? Will this come-up be the stretch that makes us say.. Damn... he's good?
Hope not. Sounds wrong but I don’t want a good 4-5 season stretch to describe my whole GM tenure here. I’ve done a sub par job. Unless I go for 5 straight rings or something completely insane like that, It will take time for me to completely turn around what I think of the job I’ve done. As far as what to expect, I hope I can finally draft 1st. That would be nice. I expect to have a very nice young team going into my CY season. Next season alone, I should have a roster filled with guys in there contract year and a lot of cap. It should be a fun process. A lot more fun than my other rebuilds. I already have a whole bunch of young guys that I like and feel like I would want to keep around when it's time to win. No names but yeah. Should be fairly obviously as to who.
5. Lets switch it up to positive talks for a second. You have had the luxury of winning a title with a rather underwhelming squad to say the least. Run us through that playoff run real quick. Do you think you out-coached everyone that you went up against or was FBB riding for you that year?
Both. Likely more so, FBB rode for me. If I remember right, I changed up my DC near the end of the season and the team played better. I also picked up Bymum and some swing man from Mark. I was at school when the playoffs were being simmed so after every sim, Spencer would text me. I was pretty shocked but fucking happy as shit. I don't think I would've changed anything if I was home and able to do anything. I thought I had the best DC to run at the playoffs with the match ups I had and I guess I was right.
6. Tell us about some of your favorite Pistons players. Does Based Derrick top the list or is there someone else you were more attached to?
Oh yeah. Based Derrick is number one. He came from me off FA from ATL I believe and helped me win my title. He tops the list for sure. I try not to get to attached to guys though I will say, I loved my guys from the last couple of seasons, especially Scott. I thought he was going to do big things. I’m glad I was able to AC him and turn him into that top 100 player he apparently wasn’t before.
7. Lets get into some league talk. Who do you think will win it all this year? Will Bingo get his 4th in a row or will teams like the Blazers and Bulls have something to say about that?
I think the Blazers are winning it. I won’t lie, I kinda feel for aar. If he doesn’t win with Bingo, it’ll look like a massive failure on his part. I’m sure he’ll deny that or doesn’t care which is good but not being able to win with a guy that just ran off 3 titles in a row? And giving him the most talent he’s ever had? That’s not a good look. Bulls will definitely give the Bingo's some issues and the Nets, with the recent deal ironically enough, should be a big time annoyance to the Bingo's also.
8. Tyler Terry has easily been the top performing rookie so far with 19 pts, 9 rebs, 2 stls and 3 blks. When we look back on the 2047 class in a few seasons, will we be saying that Tyler is the best player or will some other guys have some say in the matter?
Fuck Tyler. I should’ve had him but I went for Benson instead. Either way, I think King will be first. My Knicks homerism tells me this. Plus, I’m sure he’ll be getting the royal treatment of RC’s/AC’s very soon. I’m also very sure TC will be kind of King. Not sure about Tyler when it comes to that. Tyler is very likely to be top 5 though. Cooper should also be top 5. I know you didn't ask but fuck it. I'm skillzing this. Cooper will be a big time rebounding/defending machine soon enough.
9. You're one of the original 29 that started this league. What stretch would you say you had the most fun in? Was it the first few years with a fresh league, or maybe you're enjoying yourself now more than ever?
Whenever I’m winning it’s enjoyable lol. Between those two though, I’ll go with the start. It’s always a lot more enjoyable for me when it first starts up. I guess the freshness of it and the curiosity of what’s going to happen down the line makes it fun for me.
10. I used to be a gif king myself. I never made them.. just came across them on various sites and would right click them for future use. How in the world is your gif game so tight? You seem to have one for every situation. Do you make them or do you also find and save them for later use?
Same for me. Come across and save. I have a shit load of em that I can throw up whenever I feel like it. I do plan on making some myself in the future. I know how to, I just have been so damn lazy and a bit busy that I haven’t had the time to sit down and do it.
11. What match up would you like to see in the NBA Finals?
Spurs and I don’t care. Fuck Miami and fuck Boston. I guess Spurs and Miami. Watching the Spurs bitch slap LeBron’s hairline back again would be nice.
