HERE IS THE NEWEST MEMBER!!!! LETS GET TO KNOW THIS GUY BK STYLE!
1. You are the newest member of the league... what are you thoughts so far?
I’ve heard a ton of good things about this league. Seems like everybody who has mentioned it to me has told me that it is the best ones, if not the best one, out there and the toughest in terms of GMs. I’m still getting used to the league, other GMs, players, etc but so far it is good. Activity is extremely strong. Board is insanely active, sometimes difficult to keep up with. A lot of articles which is good as it is helping me learn more about the league.
2. Currently the Wizards are 8-24, what are the plans for the rest of the year and how many more years do you plan on rebuilding before competing?
The situation which HF left me with is a great one. This team has some nice assets including two good draft picks (though the Pistons have been doing well since getting Hazzard). For this year, I’d like to move Gilliam and Johnson for more assets but if I am unable to, then it really is not the worse thing so I am not in much of a rush to move them. As far as how many years, it really depends. I have a freebie year on my contract so I can easily continue to collect assets for the next 3 -4 seasons (probably 3 since I do not have my 2050 1st and 4 is risky) but if I can have one great offseason in between now and then, then who knows really.
3. Do you think Barnes can become an elite big in the league?
I think he can. He just looks like a really sick prospect overall. Whether or not he does, time will tell. He has everything I look for in a bigman at the age of 24. Can score with good percentages across the board, rebound, block shots. If he improves, he can become an absolute monster. The type of player I can build this team around. However, even if he does not become elite and he stays around where he is at, he is still a legit player overall.
4. If you could pick any player still on their rookie deal to start a rebuild around, who would it be? Why?
Still getting used to all the players but I really do like Michael Ray Richardson of the Spurs. I feel like point guard is the position which you have to build around in FBB and that elite ones are more than likely required for a championship team and he has the potential to be that. As a rookie, he is putting up outstanding numbers (and what impresses me most about him is the 6.1 RPG, 2.1 SPG and 1.3 BPG). Put some work into his handles and if he continues to improve in future training camps, then he can be an absolute monster.
5. I know its early and you haven't been around that long, but so far who is your least favorite GM? Who is your favorite?
Don’t have a least favorite. The GMs I know here are ones which I am cool with. As far as favorite goes, I’d have to say HF. Look at this situation he left me with, how can I not have love for him?
6. People often try to rape the new guy LOL trade-wise. Tell us the worst offer you have gotten so far? Don't hold back! go #BK HARD
Surprisingly I have only received one offer (outside of the one on my block of ‘Gilliam for expiring’ which I think was a joke). It was from the Warriors offering a continuously lottery protected first for Gilliam. As I mentioned above, I’m not in any hurry to move him and I really do not consider a continuously lottery protected first from a good team to be a good asset at all. I don't blame him for trying, not sure what Gilliam's value is as I have not received more offers but I would rather keep him than let him go for that cheap tbh.
7. Give us a little glimpse on how you of a GM you think you are. What are the things you excel at?
My approach in every league is that I’m just in it to have fun. Make tons of moves, try to build the best team I possibly can though I might make a few bad moves here and there. I feel like I am good at building deep teams which can compete.
8. What type of teams do you usually try build? Fast Outside? Slow Inside? Trap / Press?
Really depends on the personnel but I try to build an outside focus team, very fast pace and trap/press often. I’ve seen different types of teams win in FBB (and I’ve won with different types of teams) but that particular team strategy has work best for me in the past.
9. Who do you think is a better big Kermit Washington(Nets) or Bill Walton(Bucks)? Tree Rollins(POR) or Robert Parish(GST)?
Personally I prefer Walton and Rollins. As I mentioned above, I like to build teams with a very fast pace and an outside focus. And for that reason, I look for bigs who can block shots, grab rebounds and shoot a respectable percentage from the freethrow line (which is a big reason as to why I am very high on Barnes). While Kermit and Parish are not bad in those areas, they just are not as good as Walton and Parish respectively.
10. Who is the better point guards Walt Hazzard (GST/DET) or Dave Bing(Grizz)? Andre McCarter ( NOH) or Gus Williams (CHI)?
Both Hazzard and Bing look like very nice point guards. I personally prefer Hazzard mainly due to the fact that he gets 1 steal per game more (with the difference in turnovers being pretty much negligible) and he is the better scorer overall. No doubt that he has improved that Pistons team greatly. As far as McCarter and Williams go, it really depends on the type of personnel I have surrounding them (inside oriented or outside oriented).
11. Who will face off in the BBS FINALS!
Seems like Magic and some West team which will lose. Though FBB can be random.
12. Tell us one thing we will all be shocked to know about you!?!? #BK
Not sure. Most people really don’t know anything about me so I guess there isn’t anything which can shock people. Maybe the fact that I am insanely lazy. I feel like I take laziness to a whole new level sometimes.
THERE YOU HAVE! NOT TOO HARD BUT HE IS NEW! LETS SEE HOW LONG THIS GUY LASTS!
NOUGH SAID
