This article will break down the top-50 players in BBS in terms of their trade value, taking into account their stats, ratings and contract. These stats are from before Day 71.
40) Ricky Sobers
PG 22 6'3'' 198 B- B+ B- B+ C- A
37.8 mpg 15.1 ppg 4.3 rpg 8.9 apg 1.2 spg 0.1 bpg 3.6 topg .443 fg% .910 ft% .351 3p%
I have no idea why I have Sobers so high on this list, but he appears to be a guy with solid upside who is well-rounded.
In a perfect world, he ends up being a B A- B+ A C C type point guard and it's very possible.
Obviously, GAME needs to work on his handles, which are obviously awful. His three point shooting also looks like it must be sub-par given his high free throw percentage.
39) George McGinnis
SF 25 6'8'' 235 A- B C+ A- B+ B
35.3 mpg 19.0 ppg 9.2 rpg 3.5 apg 1.9 spg 0.8 bpg 2.1 topg .465 fg% .835 ft% .471 3p%
I've always disliked McGinnis, but at small forward, it looks like he's finally carved a niche for himself.
His turnovers are still high, but manageable and he is better at stealing than blocking.
Like Charlie Scott, his ratings make him worth more than he actually should be.
38) Willie Davis
PF 30 6'8'' 234 B C C A A- B
34.6 mpg 17.6 ppg 8.4 rpg 2.4 apg 1.2 spg 2.0 bpg 0.8 topg .481 fg% .801 ft%
Repole was hoping Slick Willie would make this list and here he is. One of the most efficient players in the league who can play four positions and give you blocks, steals, high percentage shooting and low turnovers.
I once traded three 1sts for Davis and then regrettably traded him for Luther Green, who ended up becoming a bust (despite having A inside and A rebounding).
Davis was a huge part of the Magic's championship team along with the player who everyone knows will be #1 on this list. (SPOILER ALERT)
37) Austin Carr
SG 27 6'4'' 200 A- A C B C- B
37.8 mpg 26.9 ppg 5.5 rpg 3.2 apg 1.1 spg 0.2 bpg 1.4 topg .486 fg% .834 ft% .436 3p%
I'm a bit biased because I don't really like Carr, but there's no doubting that he's an offensive juggernaut and has been since being drafted.
He's an efficient player who puts up big numbers inside and out.
His value takes a hit because of his low rebounding and average defense.
36) Jim Barnett
SG 30 6'4'' 170 B- A+ C- A+ C- C
37.3 mpg 23.3 ppg 5.1 rpg 2.7 apg 2.2 spg 0.2 bpg 0.8 topg .476 fg% .938 ft% .465 3p%
Barnett is one of my favorite players in the league. He's a studly shooter and defender and if I was building a championship team, I'd want him on it.
If he had C or C+ rebounding, he'd be a top-20 talent, even at age 30. It's really his only shortcoming. He's a sick ballhandler and is a winner.
It's an utter shock that he's never been an All-Star.
35) Steve Mix
SF 27 6'7'' 215 A- C C- B+ B+ B
33.4 mpg 25.8 ppg 8.3 rpg 2.9 apg 1.5 spg 0.3 bpg 1.4 topg .525 fg% .817 ft%
Mix was an unknown before last season and has now become one of the premier small forwards in the league.
He's efficient, shoots incredible percentages, grabs boards and scores in bundles.
He's also locked up long-term, which was the right thing for Greg to do.
With some work, he could end up with A- rebounding and have similar ratings to Moses Malone.
34) Rick Barry
SG 31 6'7'' 208 A- A C+ A- C+ C
40.9 mpg 26.3 ppg 8.1 rpg 6.0 apg 1.9 spg 0.4 bpg 1.5 topg .500 fg% .893 ft% .372 3p%
The Thunder have a great team and Barry's probably having the best season of his career.
Not to mention that the Thunder got him absolutely dirt cheap.
Unfortunately, that's why he's not ranked higher.
33) Fred Carter
SG 30 6'3'' 185 A- B- B- A+ C C
38.2 mpg 25.1 ppg 5.1 rpg 4.0 apg 2.7 spg 0.8 bpg 1.1 topg .489 fg% .938 ft% .444 3p%
Carter has been on Toronto, so he's not talked about all that much, but he really should be. He's an absolutely sick player with very few flaws.
He scores, steals, distributes and barely turns it over.
He's a huge reason why the Raptors have been so strong for the past five seasons or so and have won a championship.
He also has great credentials with several All-Star, All-League and All-Defensive Team appearances.
32) Eldridge Webb
PG 29 5'11'' 185 B+ A- A- B- C B
37.3 mpg 18.3 ppg 5.6 rpg 11.3 apg 2.0 spg 0.2 bpg 2.6 topg .489 fg% .775 ft% .476 3p%
Like Carter, few realize how good Webb is. He was the All-League First Team point guard last season, which means that FBB recognized him as the best point guard in the league.
Webb was also the Playoff MVP when the Raptors won, which shows how good he is when it matters.
31) Jo Jo White
SG 28 6'3'' 190 B A B+ A- C B
39.4 mpg 27.6 ppg 5.6 rpg 4.7 apg 2.0 spg 0.2 bpg 2.1 topg .472 fg% .847 ft% .449 3p%
I can't believe Jo Jo is already 28, but he has become an elite player.
He recently dropped 60 in a game, which means that his numerical ratings must be sky high.
His percentages show that he's well-rounded offensively and aside from having somewhat high turnovers, there aren't a lot of holes in his game.
40) Ricky Sobers
PG 22 6'3'' 198 B- B+ B- B+ C- A
37.8 mpg 15.1 ppg 4.3 rpg 8.9 apg 1.2 spg 0.1 bpg 3.6 topg .443 fg% .910 ft% .351 3p%
