1. Boston Celtics - Allen Iverson SG 6'0'' 165 20 A- C+ C+ B- C- A
AI is an amazing talent that should be a 30 PPG guy within 5 seasons. He has unbelievable speed and quickness. He can get his shot up against just about anyone. The Celtics have long needed a franchise player and #1 option. They get both with AI.
2. Miami Heat - Kevin Garnett PF 6'11'' 220 19 B- C C B B A
The Heat need a franchise big man very badly and they have a choice of 2 with this pick. I see them going with KG simply because he looks a little better to start. KG can play 3 or 4 and will be a dominant force on both sides of the court. If the Heat can add a FA center they might have a shot at the playoffs.
3. Charlotte Bobcats (from the Houston Rockets) - Tim Duncan PF 6'11'' 248 19 B- C C B B- A
Bobcats biggest need is a young center. Duncan fits right in. A legit center who can score, board and defend. Expect TD to be a 20-10 guy that can also block shots and even pass a little. KG and TD will forever be linked because of this draft.
4. Cleveland Cavaliers - Antonio McDyess PF 6'9'' 220 21 B- C- C- B- C+ A
Antonio McDyess would be a legit #1 candidate in almost any other draft. Lucky for the Cavs he falls to 4 in this draft. Dice is a athletic player with the ability to score and rebound. Very athletic PF should be a great fit with Jason Kidd in Cleveland.
5. Los Angeles Lakers - Jerry Stackhouse SG 6'6'' 218 20 B+ C+ C+ C D A
Lakers miss out on the franchise guys at the top of the draft, so they get the best scorer available in Stackhouse. While he doesn't defend much, he can score a ton. A legit #1 option who could eventually be a 22-25 PPG scorer.
6. Memphis Grizzlies - Michael Finley SG 6'7'' 225 22 C+ B- C B- C- A
Finley is more of a two way threat then Stackhouse. Not the scorer that Stack is, but Finley should be a pretty solid defender. Maybe get to as much as 20 PPG as well. Should fit in well with Jalen Rose and Juwan Howard in Memphis.
7. Utah Jazz ( from the Indiana Pacers) - Antoine Walker SF 6'8'' 224 19 B- B- C C B- A
Walker is a very talented player that doesn't like to D. A good scorer and rebounder, Walker can play 3 or 4. With Rasheed Wallace already on board expect Walker to be a SF in Utah.
8. Utah Jazz - Theo Ratliff C 6'10'' 225 22 C+ C D+ A- C+ B
The Jazz need a shot blocker to make up for the deficiencies of Walker at SF. Ratliff wont be much of a rebounder or offensive player, but he will block shots. He'll probably be a 8 rebound a game and 3 block shot type of guy.
9. Chicago Bulls - Eric Snow PG 6'3'' 190 22 C C B- B+ C B
The Bulls already have a pretty nice option at PG in Charlie Ward but Eric Snow is too good to pass up here. More of a true PG, Snow can pass and defend very well. Snow should fit with Penny Hardaway and Ward to make a nice 3 man guard rotation.
10. Charlotte Bobcats - Kurt Thomas PF 6'9'' 230 22 C+ C D+ B B- B
The Bobcats need to continue to add some size to their roster. Here they get a very solid PF that can board and defend. Could be a 10 rebound type of guy if given the minutes. His lack of offense means he'd be ideally suited for the bench though.
11. Washington Wizards - Damon Stoudamire PG 5'10'' 171 22 C B+ B- C D+ B
The Wizards have a lot of depth, but no real superstar type players. They wont be able to get that true star here, but they will add more depth. Stoudamire joins a log jam at PG, but has some nice offensive skills and some upside.
12. Los Angeles Clippers - Brent Barry SG 6'6'' 185 23 C+ B+ C+ C C B
Brent Barry is a pretty athletic guard that can play 1 or 2. Not a great defender, he'll make a living as an offensive specialist. Could be a 20 PPG scorer in the right offense.
13. Dallas Mavericks - Corliss Williamson SF 6'7'' 245 21 B C C- C+ C B
The Mavs need to add quality depth. Williamson is a very good low post scorer that can play some 3 and 4. Not a great rebounder or defender, expect Williamson just to be a bench scorer in Dallas.
14. Chicago Bulls (from the New Orleans Hornets) - Gary Trent PF 6'8'' 250 21 B+ C- C- C C+ C
The Bulls have to go big here so they get the best available post scorer in Gary Trent. Trent isn't a starter quality type player, but he should be a very solid role player who can score off the bench.
15. Dallas Mavericks (from the Golden State Warriors) - Travis Best PG 5'11'' 182 23 C B B C D+ B
Dallas again goes for depth with a solid backup PG here in Travis Best. A solid shooter and passer, Best should be a perfect backup to whoever Dallas puts in at PG next year.
