Looked at the League Leader Boards for trends over the past 10 years. Would have done this as more of an entire league approach but the statistics page is not in the league history
MPG- This stat will not change much over time due to consistent minutes played between 39 and 40 every season.
High:2034 Elgin Baylor SF Hawks 41.2
LOW: 5 Players
PPG- There looks to be a steady direction of incline for the past 10 years and to continue into the future. Also the higher PPG leaders of the most recent seasons is getting closer to 38.
HIGH:2035 Larry Jones SF Bucks 37.7
2036 Larry Jones SF Bucks 37.7
LOW:2029 Juno Tremont SF Hornets 27.8
RPG- The leader boards for rebounds average is always between 12 and 13 over the past 10 seasons. A downward linear line indicates a slight regression in the average rebounds among the leagues elite in rebounding. It is a miniscule amount over all.
HIGH:2029 Wilt Chamberlain C Timberwolves 14.6
2037 Wilt Chamberlain C Bobcats 14.6
LOW:2038 Hank Finkel C Wizards 11.3
APG- Saw an increase over the middle years of this analysis and then leveled off to around 10.5 for the most recent seasons. A definite increase over year 1 of the analysis.
HIGH:2031 K.C. Jones PG Grizzlies 12.4
LOW:2029 Ethan Talley PG Nets 9.4
2030 Jacquez Knight PG Cavaliers 9.4
2032 Slick Leonard PG Clippers 9.4
BPG- This is one of the more interesting categories. It is apparent that more elite blocking bigs have been introduced to the lime light. There are some drops to the average over the middling years but overall it is an obvious climb.
HIGH:2034 Jerry Lucas PF Magic 4.3
2037 Cleveland Buckner C Suns 4.3
LOW:2029 Woody Sauldsberry PF Celtics 3.2
SPG- On the other hand it looks like SPG has taken a hit. A small one but a hit none the less. It is a difference of about .2 steals per game down. The 10 year average low came in the most recent season.
HIGH:2029 Frank Ramsey SG Suns 2.7
2033 Guy Rodgers PG Timberwolves 2.7
LOW:2038 Flynn Robinson SG Hornets 2
FGA- The amount of FGA's among the leagues top talents has seen a steady increase nearing 25 FGA / game. Volume has increased which has a direct correlation with points.
HIGH:2038 Jon McGlocklin PG Thunder 29.2
LOW:2031 Tanner Thompson SF Suns 21.7
2031 Nehemiah Harrison SG Thunder 21.7
FG%- Another slight increase. The FG% of the upper echelon of players historically is around 51 & 52%. The graph depicts an incline but the overall incline is minimal.
HIGH:2035 Happy Hairston PF Mavericks 0.557
2036 Happy Hairston PF Mavericks 0.557
LOW:2030 Angelo Lombardo SG Pistons 0.5
FTA- FT's per game has changed considerably over the last 10 seasons. Beginning a little under 8 to consistently nearing 9 for the past few seasons. A lot of players are reaching the line more times in a game.
HIGH:2034 Jerry Lucas PF Magic 10.6
LOW:2030 Jayson O'Keane PF Timberwolves 7
FT%- The league leaders for FT% will always be int he upper .900s so its not even worth an analysis. Slight incline but it is miniscule.
HIGH:2035 Pickles Kennedy PG Nuggets 0.98
2036 Pickles Kennedy PG Nuggets 0.98
LOW:2034 Pickles Kennedy PG Nuggets 0.925
3PA- 3 point attempts is pretty consistent through out the years. Right around 6.5 a game each season for the big time 3 point shooters in the league. There are a few outliers but like I mentioned around 6.5 is the average.
HIGH:2029 Nehemiah Harrison SG Knicks 7.7
2035 John Havlicek SG Nets 7.7
2036 John Havlicek SG Nets 7.7
LOW:2030 Frank Ramsey SG Suns 5.6
2031 Hal Greer SG Lakers 5.6
3P%- The same with most shooting percentages they stay consistent every year. The leagues elite 3 point shooters are nearly 50% from deep. Not much change here between years.
HIGH:2031 Pickles Kennedy PG Hornets 0.615
LOW:2034 Mel Peterson SG Timberwolves 0.464
FPG- Fouls started at 3.6 per game in 2029 and saw some abnormal numbers in '32 and '33. Overall the linear line points to a decline in fouls over the 10 year spread.
HIGH:2032 Jayson O'Keane PF Timberwolves 3.9
2032 Marquell Rodgers C Jazz 3.9
2032 Jason Robinson C Pacers 3.9
LOW:2033 Ron Johnson PF Wizards 3.3
2033 Jayson O'Keane PF Timberwolves 3.3
TPG- Turnovers saw some high points from '31 to '34 due to some tanking teams. Turnovers average around 3 on the high end of the leagues biggest turn over whores. The more recent season have been lower compared to '29-'33.
HIGH:2031 Tommy Monroe PG Nuggets 4.5
LOW:2030 Dwayne Smith SF Nets 2.5
2037 Willie Jones SG Clippers 2.5
