So why are you taking what looks like a music history class to get a Computer Science degree? Seems odd to me. And also, don't you need lots of work experience to get an MBA? At least a decent MBA from a good school anyway? I thought you needed like minimum 5 years work experience to go for an MBA. It's part of my cluster. Each student that transfers to PSU as a junior needs to take 3 terms of some cluster (like philosophy, women studies, archeology, music, etc....). So I chose music because it fit my schedule well. No, don't think you need that much work experience to apply for your MBA. In fact, I think you could go straight from undergrad to MBA. Maybe in England things are done differently?

You sure Ducky? I've not heard that... unless it's not a very good MBA or the school isn't very good. I looked into MBA's over here and wasn't even allowed to apply because I didn't have 3-5 years work experience. And this is for places like LSE, London Business School, Imperial Business School, Cass etc. E.g. London Business School's admissions page which is one of the best MBA courses in the world: www.london.edu/programmes/mba/faqs.htmlI just did a quick Wiki too and this came up:

But dang, I should probably talk to my advisor next week. Never knew that. Well I will start working this summer, so 3 more years to go lol.

Yeah worth checking out. When I got laid off this was one of the options I thought I'd explore and the only MBA's available for people with as little experience as I had were at shit schools, and to be honest, there's no point getting one from a shit school. I'd rather stay in the job market and fight for a job than waste the two years or so getting a flimsy MBA.
In my eyes, I'd have to continue working in investment banking for another 3 years before I can realistically apply for an MBA at a good school although to be honest, I don't think I want to do one anyway. It's a hell of a lot of money to have to pay for it and I hate studying lol.

More recently schools as prestigious as Stanford have begun encouraging earlier applicants - I have no idea how many of these "earlier applicants" end up being accepted, though. In the US I'd say 3-5 years work experience is still the standard.

It's business school at the end of the day, of course they'd prefer business related jobs. Not to say they won't take people working in management consultancy, or law, or anything, it's just preferable to get work experience related to the course.
