but ootp is lightyears ahead of FBB in a lot of ways, has a much bigger fan base, and baseball history is a lot more celebrated by its fans than the nba's is lol, yes, OOTP is lightyears ahead, so I guess heavyreign shouldnt work on making his sim more appealing? hahahahaha

id expect 4 options for finances:
*off *hard cap *soft cap (like original FBB) *full (soft cap with luxury tax, owner budgets, ticket prices, etc)
meh, I hate the ticket prices n that shit.. i guess it'd be fun for single player though

hahahahah really? what about the constant opposition to retro we've had in every league? and when have any of you complained about not having an ABA option or real life development? i'm fine with those things, but HR's time spent on FBB is always an issue, and i'm 99% of guys would rather he spend it fixing flaws what? seems like this version started in 1990 and ended up reverting to Retro

Another option I've included this time is that retired players do get saved within the game. This means that for any player that appeared in the league you will be able to view a retired player screen. So when you are looking at the past history of the league and you want to see what happened to the #1 overall pick in 1950 or something, you will be able to see it. Also, teams that leave the league still have their history saved as well.
I like this too

I dont program, so I could be wrong, but I would definitely think you want to do the big features and stuff before you get down to fixing stats and stuff with the engine

I think having an open BETA though will help solve and tweak majority of the things. I think if he's talking about other options other than the base game engine, then he's far along enough and besides he's basically using the FBCB engine which is already in place.

Personally I like to make sure the engine is near perfect before really moving on, to me anything you build around a shit foundation is worthless. But if he's confident that he can tweak the stats and that his general engine logic is sound, then yeah, working on the big picture stuff is fine. Seeing as the engine is based on the college hoops game, I'd assume he feels good about it in general and only needs to tweak a few things. Not getting the engine down first though is how you end up with games like NBA Live instead of 2k

ducky or J would be better at explaining this stuff as both are designers for video games but basically the engine is what comes first, the options next, and then the tweaks and bug fixes last.
