I didn't like this draft at all. Not at all. I would still obviously take a pick but the draft is very weak at the top and very poor throughout the lotto. It should be called the Erbes draft bc nobody plays D.
1. Los Angeles Clippers - Dean Hollis SF 6'10'' 220 20 B B+ C B- B- A
His ratings look so much better than everybody else's ratings. Even if he has less upside than some of the other players he should come in and contribute right away. Already a solid scorer and a good rebounder for a sf. I don't see anybody passing him up for Xi or Valentine.
2. Charlotte Bobcats - Durell Valentine C 7'0' 290 21 B D+ D- C B+ A
I really don't like the Bobcats players. Tweenertown. Kemp, Johnson, Wade. Can't rebound well enough to play pf, can't shoot well enough to play sf. Any of the three could morph into a good player but none are guaranteed. Valentine will give them an inside presence which they sorely need.
3. Washington Wizards- Kwan Xi PF 6'10 215 19 C B+ C- C B+ A
I lold when I opened their roster and saw six first rounders but only one lotto pick. All their better young players have serious flaws. I like Mack and Washington, also Jackson some although that contract is horrid, but none is an elite player. I'm not a big fan of Xi but Spencer has crowned him a top 3 pick so the Wizards will draft him.
4. Cleveland Cavaliers- Jayson O'Keane PF 6'8'' 245 21 A- C+ D+ C+ B C
I think that Wesley is a better player but they already have Sexon at sf and he is getting too much money to sit. Since they like Larson I doubt they draft Pable. Did I mention that I don't really like this draft?
5. Boston Celtics - Cesar Pable C 7'5'' 269 19 C+ D C- A C A
They took Bruton last year so they won't take a sf. Pable is a nice counterbalance to Kody Griffin. Also, since Bruton is a good rebounder at sf they can afford to play Pable for his D even if he is a poor rebounder.
6. La Clippers (from Golden State Warriors) - Matt Wesley SF 6'7'' 229 20 C+ B+ C+ C B- A
The Clippers would like to take a big here but there is really nobody deserving. They will take a big with their last lotto pick so they will take the BPA. I really like Wesley but his lack of D will hurt him. Kind of reminds me of Justin Ferguson.
7. Cleveland Cavaliers (from New Jersey Nets) - Marcus Jay SG 6'5'' 210 21 C+ A C- C C A
After picking O'Keane they will be looking to improve their backcourt. Since they have Middleton from last year I guess they will look to get a sg. Parker looks nice but they already have Daniel who looks nice and sucks. Marcus Jay can score and the Cavs lack someone who can fill it up.
8. Chicago Bulls - Tracy Parker SG 6'6'' 204 22 C B+ C+ B- C- A
How do the Bulls have such a high pick?? I think that their pick should be moved to the end of the lotto ;D I think that Parker is the best player left, I mean that he has the best ratings left. I think he will be a bust but who knows?
9. Portland Trail Blazers (from New Orleans Hornets)- Jeremy Thorpe C 6'10'' 243 20 B+ C D- B- B- B
They have a ton of cap room, and only 2 players under contract, so they will draft the BPA and fill holes in fa. Thorpe is a reach as far as his ratings but he will be the Kody Griffin of this year's draft. Doesn't look very good but sims well.
10. LA Clippers (from Denver Nuggets via Golden State Warriors)- Edison Vale C 6'11'' 255 22 B C- D+ C+ B A
Vale is solid all around - Solid defensive rebounder , Good post scorer , Solid post defender.
11. Dallas Mavericks (from Detroit Pistons) - Christian Keck PG 6'6'' 180 21 B- C+ B+ C- C A
Somebody has to pick a pg at some point. Keck kind of reminds me of JJ except that he can't play d and sucks. The Mavs have Knight at pg who has gone down in tc for the last 2 years so they will look for a possible replacement.
12. Dallas Mavericks- Ivan Harris PF 6'10'' 234 22 A- C C B- C+ C
Gasol is on his last legs. They need a third big. Harris will give them an inside scoring presence . Also possible they will pick Riley Corbin.
13. SA Spurs- Riley Corbin PF 6'10'' 255 23 C C C+ B- A- B
The Spurs could also use a third big. Corbin has no offensive skills but he should block some shots and rebound. Also being a great passer never hurts.
