Brad Thompson 6'4 205 SG 19 years old Baylor
Ratings: B C+ C C C A
Strengths: When scouts watch Brad Thompson, potential is always the first word that comes to mind. He hasn't hit his stride yet, but the man is so talented. Thompson is incredibly athletic--quick, strong, agile--and has excellent hops. But there is more in his game waiting to emerge than just his athleticism. Thompson has a smooth jumper that isn't consistent yet, and he took off in the NCAA tournament with two game-winning shots after a poor regular season. He can hit the mid range jump shot consistently but needs some work on his three pointer. Thompson has a good handle--he rarely turns it over--but is not the best passer yet. He is an above average rebound for a shooting guard as well.
Weaknesses: Thompson is young and raw. If he doesn't improve by a lot, he does not have much of a future in the BBS. Despite his athleticism, he struggles around the rim and he still has to develop that smooth jumpshot of his. Defensively, Thompson hasn't really been taught how to play yet. He can get some steals, but Thompson is not a good perimeter defender in the least. Basically, he needs a lot of work.
Overall: Thompson is a good kid with big upside. However, is he currently too raw to ever make a serious impact?
