After 1 season playing college football and another season as a redshirt, this guy has made a real explosion afterhis redshirt freshman season.
He is the leader of the talented Bruins and leaded the teams in assists, 3 pointers, overall scoring and steals.
He is a great leaper, a bit ungainly tho and has not the ability to make a layup with big guys in front of, he always takes runners and tear drops, with a really low %
His main focus of scoring are threes, leads the nation in 3 point % and three points made . He will never be more than a 3rd option probably in BBS in terms of scoring because if his low % shots and his turnovers, he lost the ball a lot of times when preasure or when he becames the first option
What makes this guy so special is his passing,he is outstanding, but lose so many balls because of his handless. In his own words, playing quarterback helped him but he never trained how to put the ball in the floor. His coach tried to put him as a PG this season, with good results in assists, but really bad in turnovers.
Another big deal is his game is his man to man defense, he is able to shutdown every PG-SG,at least in college . We don't know how will that will translate into pro's, mainly because his lack of power. To be noted,he lefts football because he couldnt throw more than 15-20 yards deep. He is blatantly weak, durant-like body .This is good for his speed, he averaged 13.3 yards per carry so he is really quick.
His midrange game is good, good from the stripe, solid j, not as good as his 3 point ability but can score from there
An average defensive rebounder and a great offensive rebounder , a pure hustler in that end always looking for the ball and even in the first pass to the PG he is a ballhawker , will get a lot of steals
He will get destroyed in the paint defensively so probably he is SG at the next level, tough and big SF will destroy him
There are a lot of concerns of him, mainly because of his lack of a inside game, his turnovers and his ability to take it to the next level, but his improvement in those years at college, his hard work every single day of the year ( improved from 17% 3 point to 53% in a season) and his shooting and passing ability should get him a good spot in the draft. If he can translate and improve this weak areas he will be a star or at least a solid contributor and starter for a winning team.
And if he improves all that he should/can, should even be able to even manage the point guard position.
