Baye Moussa Keita
Height: 6'10''
Weight: 230 lbs.
Position: PF
Age: 19
School: Syracuse University
Bio: This Senegal native is one of the best international players coming out college ever. He attended Oak Hill Academy and has played on numerous Jordan All-Star teams. He also attended a prestigious academy in Senegal that helps young players refine their game and get them ready to go abroad to continue their careers.
Strengths: Quite possibly one of the most well rounded big man ever to come out of the Big East. Under the tutelage of such greats as Derrick Coleman and Rick Jackson, Baye has become great. He is a very adept scorer. He's great with his back to the basket and has the knack to use the rim as a natural shot blocker when down low. His rebounding is plus-plus, as in defensive-offensive. He converts a lot of those offensive rebounds into easy buckets. His long arms lead to solid block numbers, but don't expect anything above 3 per game. Overall, his defense is solid. Can be a clog in the lane and make guards think twice driving to the hoop. He's very strong as you can tell, but his quickness leaves something to be desired and he can often be found cherry picking on opponents fast breaks. Decent hands, but a poor passer. Would prefer to shoot rather than pass.
Weaknesses: As mentioned above his passing is weak. He could have some TO problems, which is alarming for a big man. Not a big steal guy. His jump shot is also a little whack. Probably not a good idea to have him anywhere but posting up in the paint. Free throws are also worrisome.
Outlook: He's a stud. ROY of the year candidate and future MVP candidate. He could put up 17/10/2 in his rookie year, and that's without being RC'd or AC'd. Will definitely be effective in the league for at least ten years.
