2020 Potential Free Agents: SF, SG, PG
The Small Forwards...
Amos Sexson
Current Team: Miami Heat
Age: 25
Ratings: B B B A- C A
Statistics: 36.5 MPG, 15.9 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 4.4 APG
Sexson is one of the better looking young 3s in the league and this is as a 2nd round pick. Impressive to say the least. In just under 37 minutes of play a game, Sexson averages 16 points, 5.5 rebounds and a little over 4 assists a game which are just solid, solid numbers out of a third year player. Sexson has made major improvements to his game every year and is probably going to continue to improve for a while. Could be a very nice third guy if he is shown attention with ACs and such. Hard to predict the kind of offers he would get on the open market though.
Elias Harris
Current Team: Miami Heat
Age: 29
Ratings: A- B- C- B- C+ C
Statistics: 18.6 MPG, 11.8 PPG, 3.9 RPG
Elias Harris is a really nice scorer that has yet to find a place he can call home after his first 4 years with Indiana. And it’s a shame too considering how nice of a depth player he is. In just under 19 minutes a game, Harris averages 12 points per game. Couple that with his very nice A- B- inside and outside ratings and it’s clear that Harris is a legit scorer. Nice bench player for any squad here. Should receive a ton of MLE type offers.
Quentin Oakley
Current Team: Orlando Magic
Age: 25
Ratings: C A- D A C+ B
Statistics: 27.3 MPG, 6.6 PPG, 6.7 RPG
Oakley sports a nice A- in outside and solid A in defense to go along with C+ rebounding. Unfortunately, he doesn’t really produce any numbers off of those ratings. Low points, no steals, no blocks… nothing. I imagine he’s a stud one-on-one defender type of player which can be useful I guess. Should receive some offers should he test FA.
Tyler Honeycutt
Current Team: Washington Wizards
Age: 28
Ratings: B+ A- D- B+ C C
Statistics: 31 MPG, 15.6 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 1.5 SPG
I’ve been disappointed with Honeycutt. He’s a good player, but I thought he was definitely on the verge of being an all-star type of forward a few seasons back. It would appear he is locked in to being a nice glue guy that can shoot it and steal the ball nicely. Should receive a ton off of his ratings alone.
Landry Fields
Current Team: Milwaukee Bucks
Age: 30
Ratings: B+ B+ C+ A- B+ D
Statistics: 39.3 MPG, 23.6 PPG, 9.2 RPG, 4.2 APG, 1.6 SPG
Even though he’s 30, Fields is definitely one of the jewels this off-season could potentially offer. Not only does he give you the great offensive production with nearly 24 points and 4 assists a game, but he also gives you an incredible 9 rebounds from the wing. Just remarkable stuff there. The 1.6 steals are just gravy. He is definitely a max level player as far as his production but being 30 might scare away some GMs from committing to that kind of offer.
Kuran Iverson
Current Team: Milwaukee Bucks
Age: 23
Ratings: B- B+ B C+ A- C
Statistics: 19.3 MPG, 8.8 PPG, 4.9 RPG
Kuran Iverson has played great of the bench this year and seems like he could be a quality starter in this league with some camping attention. The C+ defense is ugly, but he can definitely score (9 points in 19 minutes) and his rebounding could help off-set his deficiency on the defensive end. Being 23 with those ratings and solid production, he is worth a look.
Rudy Gay
Current Team: Milwaukee Bucks
Age: 32
Ratings: B- A- C A- C+ D
Statistics: 15.1 MPG, 6.4 PPG, 3 RPG, 1.2 SPG
Gay has been moved to the bench but he can still be a decent 5th starter so he’s worth the mention. He doesn’t provide anything amazing scoring wise, but he can definitely shoot it as well as rebound a little. Probably his best asset is his defense. 1.2 steals in just 15.1 minutes per game is impressive and just a little glimpse of what he could do. Should receive some MLE offers.
Dwyane Wade
Current Team: Toronto Raptors
Age: 36
Ratings: B B- B- B C D
Statistics: 27.4 MPG, 18.5 PPG, 3.8 RPG, 2.8 APG
Had to throw the old head up on here. How in the world is Wade still simming so damn good in spite of his huge decline ratings wise? Dude is getting nearly 19 points a game in 27 minutes of play… well damn. I figure he’ll retire after this season but if not, he’s definitely worth a look if he’s able to produce off of B B- scoring ratings.
James McAdoo
Current Team: New Orleans Hornets
Age: 25
Ratings: A- C C C+ B C
Statistics: 22.6 MPG, 10.1 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 1 BPG
James McAdoo is a tweener but a very good one. He can not only score in a hurry, but also pull down boards and even block shots. You can’t go wrong with a guy that is capable of 10 points, 6 rebounds and a block a game in just 23 minutes. Should receive a lot of MLE offers.
P.J. Tucker
Current Team: Phoenix Suns
Age: 33
Ratings: B+ C D A B- C
Statistics: 35.9 MPG, 13.7 PPG, 7.8 RPG, 1.7 SPG
Tucker is the perfect glue guy at the 3. Rather than taking shots away from your studs, he simply gets his points within the flow of the game. He rebounds the ball at very nice rate and can also steal the ball as well as play superb man on man defense. On top of all of this, he damn near never turns the ball over. Should get a lot of looks.
Danilo Gallinari
Current Team: Portland Trail Blazers
Age: 30
Ratings: C A+ C+ B+ C- C
Statistics: 37.4 MPG, 11.3 PPG, 5.2 RPG
Like Tucker, Gallinari is also a nice glue guy at the 3. Gallinari’s value comes from his amazing efficient shooting to go around with good defense and decent rebounding. Perfect 5th starter or bench player for outside teams or teams in dire need of more outside shooting.
The Shooting Guards...
Rudy Fernandez
Current Team: Miami Heat
Age: 33
Ratings: B- A- B+ B C- D
Statistics: 35.6 MPG, 14.1 PPG, 5 RPG, 5.5 APG
Fernandez is a nice addition for any team that needs good outside shooting as well as extra play making. 5.5 assists per game out of your shooting guard is obviously very welcome production. Nice prototypical shooting guard that should be a nice MLE signing as long as he doesn’t die.
O.J. Mayo
Current Team: New York Knicks
Age: 30
Ratings: B+ A- C+ C C C
Statistics: 35 MPG, 27.2 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 4.3 APG
Crazy production out of Mayo this year. And to think I had to practically dump him on a team smh. 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists a game while shooting nearly 50% from the field is nothing short of amazing. However the question with Mayo was never about his offensive production and always about his defense. C defense is really ugly and he is still letting guys score at will. He can’t steal the ball at a high rate and he can get a little turnover happy at times. Still a sick shooting guard that deserves a decent sized contract, but will probably only receive the MLE by teams other than the Knicks.
Dan Davis
Current Team: Atlanta Hawks
Age: 23
Ratings: B+ A- B- A C- B
Statistics: 38 MPG,22.4 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 5.1 APG, 2.3 SPG
Dan Davis is one of the main prizes this free agent class could potentially offer. After an explosion of a training camp this past off-season, the 23 year old swing is one of the best young wing prospects this league has to offer. In 38 minutes a game, Davis averages a little over 22 points a game to go with 5 rebounds, 5 assists and over 2 steals. That kind of production with those kinds of ratings and yea… MAX all the way.
James Harden
Current Team: Atlanta Hawks
Age: 29
Ratings: B A- C B- D+ D
Statistics: 38.3 MPG, 18.2 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 2.8 APG, 1.7 SPG
After nine years with the Wizards, James Harden finally switched teams in a trade with the Hawks. Harden has always flown under the radar but he’s a pretty solid player. His rebounding is meh and his man to man defense is pretty poor but he’s pretty good at stealing the ball. Most importantly, he’s a good and efficient shooter/scorer. In 38 minutes per game, Harden is averaging just over 18 points a game. Could be a sick bench scorer.
J-Mychal Reese
Current Team: Cleveland Cavaliers
Age: 24
Ratings: A- B B- B+ D+ B
Statistics: 36.3 MPG, 17.6 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 3.8 APG, 1.5 SPG
Reese looked like he was going to be a stud early in his career and although he could still very well become a stud, he’s been hovering around these seem ratings for a while now. Or at least it seems that way. Great production out of Reese so far though. Just about 18 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists to go with 1.5 steals in 36 minutes. He also shoots over 50% from the field this year. With some attention to his outside game, he could take that next step. For now he’s just a good player. Will probably get the max.
Brandon Roy
Current Team: Detroit Pistons
Age: 34
Ratings: B B+ C+ B+ C D
Statistics: 23.3 MPG, 11.4 PPG, 4.6 RPG
At 34, Roy isn’t the elite player he once was but he’s still a very good player. I bet he would still show flashes of greatness if he were moved to point guard, but for now he’s just a really nice bench wing. 11 points and 5 rebounds in just over 23 minutes a game is nice production. If he doesn’t retire next season, he will definitely find his way onto a team via MLE.
Nicolas Batum
Current Team: Indiana Pacers
Age: 29
Ratings: B+ B+ C B+ C C
Statistics: 38.4 MPG, 16.7 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 1.4 SPG, 1.5 BPG
Batum has good ratings to go with good production. The 3PT shooting leaves a lot to be desired (only 32% from downtown this year), but Batum has managed to score well in spite of being off from three. Nearly 17 points to go along with 5 rebounds are good numbers for the 29 year old. The most intriguing thing about Batum is his 1.5 BPG. Sick defensive wing players that can get you 2 steals and/or 2 blocks in any given game are definitely coveted.
Martell Webster
Current Team: Phoenix Suns
Age: 31
Ratings: B+ A- C C D+ D
Statistics: 38.3 MPG, 25.1 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 3 APG
The defense is horrible and the rebounding is just eh, but the scoring is WELL DAMN. Webster is no stranger to big scoring nights and as he is the 2nd leading scorer on a team like the Suns, you know he is legit at what he does best. He should turn a few heads should he test FA, but he will ultimately end up back with the Suns as he is too valuable to them.
Eric Gordon
Current Team: Portland Trail Blazers
Age: 29
Ratings: B- A A- A- C F
Statistics: 38.4 MPG, 22 PPG, 6.7 RPG, 4.7 APG, 1.8 SPG
‘F’ scouted kinda fucks up some otherwise great looking ratings. Weird to see a 29 year old with F scouted potential lol.. anyway, Gordon is a top 5 shooting guard in the league and will certainly get a ton of looks should he decide to test free agency. 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists behind guys like LeBron James and Chris Paul is impressive to say the least. You honestly can’t get too much better than this guy.
The Point Guards...
Rajon Rondo
Current Team: New York Knicks
Age: 32
Ratings: B- C+ A A- C D
Statistics: 17.6 MPG, 8.8 PPG, 3.6 APG, 1.3 SPG
After 12 years of being a starting point guard, Rondo is now a bench player for the New York Knicks. He’s fell off, but is still a very good point guard and he’s shown it with his play this season. Averaging just about 9 points and 4 assists in 18 minutes of play, Rondo is giving the Knicks production that any team would love to have out of their back up point. The 1.3 steals is just gravy.
Tyreke Evans
Current Team: Washington Wizards
Age: 29
Ratings: A- A- B+ B- C D
Statistics: 38.5 MPG, 27.4 PPG, 6.7 RPG, 7.1 APG, 2.1 SPG
Tyreke Evans has recently been moved to the 3 which is word. Maybe he’ll turn it over just 3 times instead of 4+ lols. Nah but Tyreke is a good player. He hasn’t been able to shine over other 1s/2s/3s in his career and has zero accolades as a result. Not even a single third team or all-star game appearance. Still, Reke can compete on the level of the best on any given night and that makes him valuable. A big guard that can score with the best of them and provide some excellent rebounding and passing in the process is obviously a desired player. He should receive a lot of big offers.
Ricky Rubio
Current Team: Charlotte Bobcats
Age: 29
Ratings: B- A- A+ A- C- C
Statistics: 38.6 MPG, 20.9 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 9.6 APG, 2.5 SPG
Rubio has been one of the best point guards in the league since getting his first starting job as a sophomore. However, he has managed to fly a bit under the radar for his whole career, only making one all-star game and obtaining a few Third Team recognitions here and there. Still, you couldn’t ask for much more than what Rubio provides. 21 points to go along with just about 6 rebounds and 10 assists is just sick. Defensively Rubio is a dog as well, averaging 2.5 a game this season (6th in the league). The 29 year old guard out of Spain will definitely garner a ton of attention should he decide to test the market.
Brandon Knight
Current Team: Denver Nuggets
Age: 27
Ratings: B- A- A A- C C
Statistics: 38.9 MPG, 23.2 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 9.9 APG, 1.4 SPG
Knight has been a pretty good scorer since his rookie year. It wasn’t until just recently that Knight has not only taken a huge step forward with his point guard skills, but also was able to combine them with his great shooting/scoring. And it has made him look a hell of a lot more valuable. 23 points to go along with 5 rebounds and 10 assists is sick out of a 27 year old guard that only makes a little over 8 million this season. Any team that can get their hands on him should be happy, especially if he comes on money similar to what he’s making now.
Rodrigue Beaubois
Current Team: Minnesota Timberwolves
Age: 30
Ratings: B- A- C A- C D
Statistics: 30.2 MPG, 18.9 PPG, 4.6 RPG, 3.9 APG
As a point guard, Roddy is horrible. However I had to put him up on the list because he’s such a dog as scoring. He can do it limited minutes too, which is ideal since Roddy is ultimately a bench scorer on a good team. 19 PPG on decent percentages all around . He’s definitely worth the MLE and a team could probably even steal him for the LLE. Nice.
Darren Collison
Current Team: San Antonio Spurs
Age: 31
Ratings: C+ A- A+ A- C D
Statistics: 38.8 MPG, 17.3 PPG, 6 RPG, 11.3 APG
Collison’s has to be the most surprising player in these articles to me. I had no idea that he was actually this good. It’s easy to overlook the 3+ turnovers when you consider the 11.3 assists (good for 4th in the league). Add the damn good rebounding (6 a game) and good scoring (17.3 PPG on 49% FG) and you have a keeper here. Collison can definitely be sick piece for any team in need for scorer and game manager at the 1.
Brandon Jennings
Current Team: Los Angeles Lakers
Age: 29
Ratings: B- A A B C C
Statistics: 39.4 MPG, 18.9 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 10.4 APG, 2.4 SPG
Jennings appeared to be the next big thing at the 1 early on and then randomly fell off with some crazy 4+ turnover and sub 20 PPG years. While the 29 year old has yet to ever regain the form of his 23-24 year old self, he has been extremely solid for the Lakers this year. 19 points to go along with 5 rebounds, 10 assists and a little over 2 steals a game. Can’t argue with numbers like that. Good addition for any team and he shouldn’t be too expensive.
