2015 Draft in Review
This draft was absolutely loaded, pretty much the top 5 was a nice player, but 2-5 were all studly and a lot of players look amazing.
1. Toronto-
Andrew Wiggins C 7'0'' 255 20 B D+ D+ B+ C+ A
Andrew Wiggins PF 23 7'0'' 261 B C- D+ A- B- B
Andrew Wiggins PF 23 7'0'' 261 B C- D+ A- B- B
If Toronto gets #1 the player is a bust so DJ said and it appears he was right, with Wiggins going just +3 so far in his career. Of course, maybe if DJ was active he would have dealt Wiggins at some point, or responded to one of the posts in his block about him, but I digress. Anyway, Wiggins at the time I am typing this is averaging a solid 18.5 points 10.3 boards with 2.7 blocks and 1.6 steals, pretty sick to be honest, so he really isn’t a bust. His rebounding rating is a bit of a downer, and his FG% is shitty, but AC’s could make him a stud, or any team who had plenty of rebounding elsewhere. He’ll get a max this offseason if only cause that blocks and steals combo makes him a deadly defender.
2. Philadelphia-
Sean O'Mara C 7'1'' 305 19 B+ C- D C+ B- A
Sean O'Mara C 22 7'1'' 311 B+ C- D B+ A- C
Sean O'Mara C 22 7'1'' 311 B+ C- D B+ A- C
A player I have literally tried to get every season, but to lums it probably seems more like every sim, hell I tried before his first TC, and to this point Lums has been very smart about holding onto him (damned you). O’Mara is a straight beast and hasn’t even been AC’d yet. His scoring is pretty sick, he blocks shots, steals some is a stud rebounder…yeah, he does it all, well not really, he doesn’t shoot the three. The best player in this draft and a sure fire max guy this offseason…fire anybody with cap who doesn’t offer it. 24 and 13 with 3 or so blocks and a steal is…..yeeee.
3. Indiana-
Landry Fields SF 6'7'' 210 27 B+ C+ C B+ B B
Landry Fields SF 30 6'7'' 210 B+ B+ C+ A- B+ D
Landry Fields SF 30 6'7'' 210 B+ B+ C+ A- B+ D
This guy probably should have just gone into FA…at 27 he is such an OLD draftee. He seems to have had pretty nice potential though, going +6 since he entered the league, and averaging a cool 23.7 points 9.1 rebounds 3.7 assists on the Bucks. His overall game is extremely well rounded, and is a + steals and blocks, low turnovers guy. His percentages arent amazzing from three right now, but yeah, he does it all, and pretty well. Stilll at 31 this offseason and coming off a rookie contract, his resigning is going to be very interesting.
4. Memphis-
DeMarcus Cousins PF 6'11'' 260 24 B+ C- C- B- B+ A
DeMarcus Cousins PF 27 6'11'' 263 A- C- C B+ A- C
DeMarcus Cousins PF 27 6'11'' 263 A- C- C B+ A- C
Ok, I will admit it, I though Cousins would be ehhhhhhh coming out, I saw #1, and #2 being studs, and couldn’t imagine that three bigs in the top 4 and all of them were gonna be really good. Well, I was wrong, Wiggins was the lesser one, and Cousins is an absolute stud. 25 points 13 boards on 52% shooting from the field. He isn’t a big blocks guy, or steals, but, he does average a + blocks steals to turnover ratio overall. He is a solid passer and overall beast. Scary. And proof I am a sucky judge of draft talent.
5. New Orleans-
Andre Drummond PF 6'10'' 251 20 C+ D D B- B A
Andre Drummond PF 23 6'10'' 251 B D C A- A- B
Andre Drummond PF 23 6'10'' 251 B D C A- A- B
Drummond went +NINE in his first TC, something I don’t even think I have ever seen out of a PG, much less a Post player, and it looked like Play had traded Hayward for an absolute surefire top 5 player in the league. Of course, making 4 studs in the top 5. Well, Drummond is an elite defensive player, but he just kinda stalled out, only going +1 since then. His stats offensively are still underwhelming, but, he is also still a defensive beast, with 11 boards 3.9 blocks 1 steal, low low turnovers and 5-% shooting as well for the defending champs. He too, like the top 5 so far will probably command a max this offseason if he doesn’t resign.
6. Boston -
Dwight Stone PF 6'8'' 225 21 C+ D+ D+ B+ B+ A
Dwight Stone C 24 6'8'' 228 B- D+ D+ A A B
Dwight Stone C 24 6'8'' 228 B- D+ D+ A A B
Stone got shipped to Los Angeles lesser in the deal for Brook Lopez, and is kind of a disappointment. Its not that he sucks, its not that he isn’t a really nice player…but after Stud after stud, this guy is just nice. If he blocked 3 shots a game, he would be a target for everybody, but he doesn’t…so he isn’t. 11.3 points, 10.8 boards is nice, and he has put up 32 points before, but, ehhhh, not really that amazing. He shouldn’t get a full max this offseason, though I for sure see him getting a couple year max. Boston did well getting Lopez for him though.
7. New York-
Dan Davis SG 6'6'' 214 20 B- C+ C B C A
Dan Davis SG 23 6'6'' 217 B+ A- B- A C- B
Dan Davis SG 23 6'6'' 217 B+ A- B- A C- B
Just going to be a role player, nothing more, Terrence Ross is miles better than him…Right Insane? At least I was right about something, Davis is a beast defensive player who steals the ball at a high rate and can chip in 22 a night. With AC’s you are looking at a guy everybody would covet. His passing is very nice, and he even blocks a shot here and there. He will get a max this offseason no doubt, and will deserve it, poor Biggie….raped again.
8. Utah -
Seth Curry PG 6'3'' 180 25 B- B+ B- C D+ A
Seth Curry PG 28 6'3'' 180 B- A- B+ B D+ C
Seth Curry PG 28 6'3'' 180 B- A- B+ B D+ C
Finally, somebody that sucks…I mean, only a +6, and his stats are atrocious. Sub 36% from the field, and only 6.1 assists with 2.6 turnovers? Lol awful. His brother? Anyway, Steph absolutely slaughters him when it comes to the pro game, poor Seth is just a foot note. His ratings certainly look nice, but ehh, he shouldn’t get paid much really.
9. Houston-
Ryan Miller C 6'11'' 250 19 B- C C B- C+ A
Ryan Miller PF 22 6'11'' 253 B C C+ A B+ B
Ryan Miller PF 22 6'11'' 253 B C C+ A B+ B
Miller looks like an absolute beast, but honestly, he is just ehh, he doesn’t block shots well at all, but he passes well. His rebounding is meh, at only 9.5 per 36, and his offesne is meh as well, just 9.3 ppg in 28.7 minutes. Dunno what it is, but the dude is just raw. Sick positional defender probably though, which is certainly nice. AC’s could make this guy a stud, but who knows. Still could have nice potential too, I could see somebody fall in love with the ratings and forget to check the production and offer him a max, and on ratings he deserves it, but his production means he doesn’t.
10. Houston-
Dmitri Morozov SF 6'11'' 225 19 C+ B- C B+ C+ B
Dmitri Morozov SF 22 6'11'' 227 C+ B- C A- C+ B
Dmitri Morozov SF 22 6'11'' 227 C+ B- C A- C+ B
Damn, I liked this dude quite a bit too, but his shot blocking and stealiing defense can only get him so far, and he didn’t develop any other part of his game at all. He is a nice role player off the bench, but not a starter really. Disappointing for sure.
11. Atlanta-
James Blackmon Jr. SG 6'4'' 190 19 B- C+ B- C C- A
James Blackmon Jr. SG 22 6'4'' 190 B B C+ C+ C- C
James Blackmon Jr. SG 22 6'4'' 190 B B C+ C+ C- C
Blackmon isn’t even seeing the floor for the Bulls after getting shipped off as expiring to help Play get under the HC….that tells you just how valuable he is. He seems to sim well, and could be a nice bench scorer maybe…nah, he sucks pretty much and will mainly just be salary filler from here on out…then again, there are worse things than being paid millions to suck.
12. Golden State-
Alec Harper C 7'0'' 252 22 B+ C- D B C+ B
Alec Harper C 25 7'0'' 253 B+ C- C- A- C+ C
Alec Harper C 25 7'0'' 253 B+ C- C- A- C+ C
I liked him too, and he is a pretty solid player. He has a very very very obvious flaw, in that he is a shitty rebounder, just 8 in 31.3 minutes a game, but, 29 points 1.8 blocks .7 steals is nice, and he is shooting 51.3% from the field….another player that if you cover his rebounding with other really nice rebounder he could be a great system player, but his weakness is pretty big.
13. New York -
Kuran Iverson SF 6'9'' 220 20 C+ C+ B C+ B A
Kuran Iverson SF 23 6'9'' 223 B- B+ B C+ A- C
Kuran Iverson SF 23 6'9'' 223 B- B+ B C+ A- C
I hate you Kuran…its not that you havent developed rating wise…its that you cant hit the fucking broadside of a barn with a basketball. He is a great utility player, if you get past the sub 40% from the field, his rebounding is excellent, he takes care of the ball and passes well too..just stop FUCKING SHOOTING SO MUCH AND PLAY SOME D DAMMIT.. Anyway yeah, nice role player, maybe even pretty damned good with some AC’s but fuck that, I have better people to AC.
14. San Antonio-
Tito Matthews PG 6'2'' 225 21 B+ C C+ C+ C- A
Tito Matthews PG 24 6'2'' 225 B- C B+ C+ C C
Tito Matthews PG 24 6'2'' 225 B- C B+ C+ C C
Always nice when the guy you take one pick after the lotto…you end up cutting and paying to play on another team. Tito blows, not much more to say than that.
15. Cleveland-
J-Mychal Reese PG 6'3'' 190 21 B+ C+ C+ B- D B
J-Mychal Reese SG 24 6'3'' 190 A- B B- B+ D+ B
J-Mychal Reese SG 24 6'3'' 190 A- B B- B+ D+ B
Meh, Reese is a really nice player, efficient, but he needs to be AC’d. He is shooting 50.7% from the field, 18 ppgg, and passes well, but yeah, his FT shooting is horrendous for a guard, 70.4%. RC his jump shot a bit, and he could be so nice, his inside is 85+ as it is, but yet again, I am too lazy, oh, and I really wasn’t a fan of him in this draft, thought there were better options, and while that is kinda true…I suck again.
16. Washington-
Allyn Camby PF 6'11'' 240 20 B- C- C- B+ C+ B
Allyn Camby PF 23 6'11'' 240 B C- C A- C+ C
Allyn Camby PF 23 6'11'' 240 B C- C A- C+ C
I liked him too, blocks are always nice. However, his offense is shitty as hell, and he is just as bad a rebounder as harper…but Blocks are so nice. Great backup big if you can get past the rebounding of course, but probably not a true starter. 8.7 points on 41.4$ shooting…meh. Houston has Miller too, underperforming offensively B inside guys.
17. New Orleans-
Brad Beal SG 6'4'' 200 22 B- B- B C C A
Brad Beal SG 25 6'4'' 203 B A- A- C+ C C
Brad Beal SG 25 6'4'' 203 B A- A- C+ C C
Not going to light it up for anybody at least for now, but, Beal is a nice backup 1/2/3 guy and probably could be sick with AC’s. Looks a lot like a Gordan Hayward, only worse. Would be interesting to see what he could do at PG. New Orleans drafted Well, sucks they didn’t keep them....then again, Pacers could really use D right about now.
18. Denver-
Quentin Oakley PF 6'10'' 246 22 C B D B C+ A
Quentin Oakley SF 25 6'10'' 249 C A- D A C+ B
Quentin Oakley SF 25 6'10'' 249 C A- D A C+ B
Oakley was just too raw, and is a nice role player, but not more. His offense is ugly, but he is a nice rebounder, and yeah an excellent defender. And he is big…I guess that’s about it really.
19. Memphis-
BeeJay Anya PF 6'9'' 280 20 B- D D+ C+ B- A
BeeJay Anya PF 23 6'9'' 280 B- D+ D- C+ B+ C
BeeJay Anya PF 23 6'9'' 280 B- D+ D- C+ B+ C
Sucks, Memphis got an absolute stud with their first pick though, cant imagine they were to upset.
20. San Antonio-
Brandon Morris C 7'4'' 270 20 B+ C D C+ C B
Brandon Morris C 23 7'4'' 270 B+ C D C+ C+ D
Brandon Morris C 23 7'4'' 270 B+ C D C+ C+ D
I DON’T SEE YOU STARTING MORRIS OVER YOUNG JAH, THOUGHT HE MADE YOU BETTER? Lol, see how things change when a team wants to win..Anyway, Morris sims well, and is a nice scorer, but he doesn’t offer anything else, so yeah, just meh.
21. Milwaukee-
James McAdoo PF 6'8'' 220 22 B+ C C C B B
James McAdoo SF 25 6'8'' 226 A- C C C+ B C
James McAdoo SF 25 6'8'' 226 A- C C C+ B C
Fuck you McAdoo, you look so nice, but in reality you are just fucking mediocre. 15 points on shitty percentages too many turnovers and 10 boards. Liveable, but only really for tanking teams.
22. Houston -
Ian Morrison PG 6'1'' 192 22 C B C+ A C- C
Ian Morrison PG 25 6'1'' 192 C B C A C- C
Ian Morrison PG 25 6'1'' 192 C B C A C- C
Role player anyone..he cant pass but he takes care of the beall well at PG, which is always a nice attribute…and he is a stud defender.
23. Toronto-
DeAndre Dotson PG 6'2'' 194 21 C B+ C B+ C B
DeAndre Dotson SG 24 6'2'' 198 C A C B+ C C
DeAndre Dotson SG 24 6'2'' 198 C A C B+ C C
Excellent shooter, solid defender.
24. Houston-
Martin Curry SG 6'4'' 203 21 C+ B C+ B C- B
Martin Curry PG 24 6'4'' 203 C+ B B- B+ C- C
Martin Curry PG 24 6'4'' 203 C+ B B- B+ C- C
Meh not impressive
25. Boston -
Aaron Craft PG 6'2'' 195 24 C B- C+ B C- B
Aaron Craft SG 27 6'2'' 196 C B C+ C+ C- D
Aaron Craft SG 27 6'2'' 196 C B C+ C+ C- D
Blows
26. Boston-
Jerry Barros PG 6'1'' 193 22 C B B- B D+ B
Jerry Barros PG 25 6'1'' 193 C A- A- A D+ C
Jerry Barros PG 25 6'1'' 193 C A- A- A D+ C
Ohh, nice, sick ratings, and not a massive turnover whore froom what I see, but he doesn’t play up to them…Still it would be nice to see him get a chance to play full time. Career highs of 28 points 16 assists and 10 rebounds.
27. Denver -
Danny Cato C 6'10'' 254 22 C+ C D C+ B B
Danny Cato C 6'10'' 254 25 C+ C- D C B- C
Danny Cato C 6'10'' 254 25 C+ C- D C B- C
Awful, not worth the comment.
28. Dallas -
Evan Vaught PF 6'8'' 226 20 C+ B C B C+ C
Evan Vaught PF 23 6'8'' 232 C B C+ B C C
Evan Vaught PF 23 6'8'' 232 C B C+ B C C
A PF that trades inside and rebounding for handles? Yeah, not what anybody wants.
29. Indiana -
Terrance Kidd C 6'11'' 246 20 C D C B- C+ B
Terrance Kidd PF 23 6'11'' 248 C D C C+ B- C
And sucks. that’s it for the first round.
