Position: SG
Height: 6'4
Weight: 197
Age: 21
College: Florida
Draft Ratings: C A- A- C+ D+ B
Breakdown:
Inside: McCarthy isnt is pretty average all around, he is an average athlete, slightly subpar strength, and a decent player inside. He is crafty around the basket, but nothing too special.
Outside
McCarthy is an excellent shooter, with a nice jump shot and very impressive three point shot. His FT shooting is a nice 83%, not outstanding, but serviceable to be sure.
Handles: McCarthy takes good care of the ball, and will not have turnover problems, though you shouldnt expect him to be a DeRozan or Hayward. He is an excellent creator for teammates, but not in a PG type sense, he is excellent in the half court, but struggles on the break, which prevents him from being a great option at PG. Also he isnt very quick, ok, but, he just isnt quick enough to handle the position.
Defense: Nolan is solid at defending the perimeter, but, he can be beat by quicker defenders driving inside. He isnt a post defender at all, no way he will play SF. Not gonna get a great number of steals, nor blocks.
Rebounding: Not an impressive rebounder at all, tends to leak out on the offensive end to get back on D, so he does get more d-rebounds than O, but still not great.
Outlook:
Nolan is a great option as a combo guard off the bench. He isnt a great athlete, and his upside probably is pretty limited, but, as a mid to late round pick he could be pretty good.
(takes the handles hit if moved to PG)
