Amir Otemzel
6'6 233 SG
22 years old
Syracuse University
Ratings: B- C+ C- A C B
Strengths: Otemzel is Ron Artest without the baggage. He'll come into the league as one of the best defenders in the league, and likely will remain that way for at least a decade. He can defend the 2 and the 3 with ease, and is interchangeable as a SG or SF. Amir is absurdly strong. He's 233 pounds and looks more like a football player than a basketball player. He plays basketball like it is a different sport, too. He's ridiculously aggressive on the defensive side of the ball, and is an incredible perimeter defender. He has a great motor to go along with his strength and has excellent hands. In college, he averaged 2.3 steals per game and always had the job of locking up the opposing teams' best player. Offensively, he isn't hopeless, and has range out to the three point land. Great teammate.
Weaknesses: Otemzel offers little else besides defense. Despite his incredible strength, he has no post game to speak of and is just an average jumper. While he should probably have 90+ ratings in per d and steals, his post defense is not good and he does not block shots--not a big deal, but his strength would otherwise make him a candidate as a PF. He doesn't not rebound well, and is neither a good passer nor a good ball handler (his quickness makes up for most of his handles grade.) While Amir can make the three point shot, he struggles at the free throw line.
Overall: Lockdown defender who should be a high lotto pick. A+ defender after his first TC probably.
