The rest of the top players at each position, and honorable mention, Shooting Guards and Point guards here, as well as at least one at each position for honorable mention (so I guess I did 6 at each position kinda)
The Shooting guard spot has a very very clear #1, then things become a bit muddled. Monta Ellis is every GM’s dream…it would really suck to lose him in FA for nothing. 30 points a game, 5.8 rebounds 5.2 assists and 2.5 steals, yeah, he does turn it over 2.3 times a gme, but, his passing and positive steals easily cover for that. His defensive rating is an A as well, his FT shooting is sublime, and his 3 point % is great. This was probably my easiest decision to make, in part due to Ellis’ greatness, but also because after him it drops off big.
2 Cavaliers DeMar DeRozan SG 28 6'7'' 234 A B+ C- C+ C C
DeRozan finds his way onto the list at #2. Yes, his defensive rating is shit, however, 35.2 Points a game on 52.2% from the field, 89.7% from the FT line 40% from three. He really isn’t a steals or blocks guy, however, his amazingly low turnovers mean he still goes +.7 overall steals+blocks-turnovers. He isn’t a great passer, but he also is defensively ok, since with low low steals and blocks ratings it can be tough to get a high defensive rating. Also he chips in a nice 6.9 rebounds a game from the SG spot, which is excellent. 35.2 points on 52.2% shooting!
Funny that everybody was meh on the Leslie move for Play, but Leslie is a stud, and at a not all that strong position. This is one of the situations where a defensive player scoring 22 a game could be more valuable than any scorer, but I chose not to on this one, probably because I am a DeRozan homer. 22.1 points 7 boards is nice, but it’s the 2.6 steals and 1.3 blocks vs. 1 turnover that truly make him elite. A +2.9 is nice out of a big man, but a guard? Crazy. He isn’t a great percentages guy for shooting, meh 3 and FT, but, his overall percentage is solid. I doubt anybody would say they wouldn’t want him on their team.
Gordon is a stud, 26.1 points 7.1 boards 5.1 assists on nice percentages with 2.1 steals and .3 blocks vs. 2.1 turnovers? sick. Pretty much a dominant player all around. I like Leslies defensive stats more but, its quite close, his assists are sick and rebounding despite his 6'3 size. I guess for an outside shooter he could shoot a bit better maybe, that would help, but thats grasping straws
I put Alec Burks at #5 since he didn’t put it all together statistically this season, his numbers weren’t bad, 23.7 a game, 5 boards 2 assists 1.5 steals is nice for sure, and he goes positive steals and blocks to turnovers, but he doesn’t standout overall anywhere. Is it likely he could be a big time scorer for a different team, probably I guess, but, for this year I have to take the top three guys over him. Burks is still a nice player with solid percentages, 47.1% from the field 83.1 % from FT and 43.8 from 3, but nothing just stands out.
Lakers Thaddeus Young SF 29 6'9'' 232 A- A- D+ A C+ C
Thad falls here since he was a nice player, who put up nice stats on a very stacked offensive team. There were not a lot of shots to be taken for the Lakers, so to score a lot you had to capitaluze when you got them…45.5% is just average really, as is 83.7% from the ft line and 40% from three, all just good enough to fit. His past performance speaks to what kind of player he can be. His 6.8 rebounds is nice, but he is a SF at SG, his 2.3 assists is meh, but he gets a nice 1.5 steals and .7 blocks, to 1.6 turnovers. I cant say as a SG I would rather have him to the other 4 guys, but, if each was put on a team in the same situation, I would guess Thadds could do as well as any of them.
Irving falls #1 at the most loaded spot in the league. I had 7 or 8 names I could have put here easy, and its funny that the league MVP falls third at his own position, but, Irving is a straight Stud, I guess Marty shouldn’t have dealt him, but I got my picks back in the overall exchange, so I don’t mind how it turned out at all. I wish he was a better rebounder, but it can be covered up, Manu was an awful rebounder too, but he was still a title caliber player. 27.5 points 9.7 assists 2.2 steals and only 1.8 turnovers though…wow, 49.1% from the field 89.4% from the FT line and 42.4% from 3? Ugh…wow again. There just isn’t a more well rounded PG.
The back to back champs Point Guard falls #2 on this list. He does have a negative turnover to steal+blocks ratio, but that can be lived with on a PG as long as it isn’t excessive. The big key comes from him scoring 25.9 points a game, 10.5 assists 4.4 boards on 49.5 84.1 45.8 percentages…crazy, thougj for a PG that FT% could be better…though that’s splitting hairs. Both of these guys played better this last season, and though Deron has A+ D, the overall scoring makes Kyrie and Curry both better for the year.
Its extremely close for #2 and #3, But, Curry averaged more assists and points, and though his turnovers to steals is better….actually, kinda convincing myself I would rather have Deron right now, so screw what I said before, too lazy to change it now, Derons turnovers and steals make me like him more, he is a better FT shooter, and his percentages are still pretty good, barely worse on the FG% and quite a bit worse on the 3Pointers but he gets to the line more than Curry, and overall is a more balanced player.
John Wall falls a surprising fourth, but, his FT% kills him. A PG that averages a shitty 73.3 from the line is bad, not that the rest of his game is bad…its pretty much amazing, though he doesn’t have a great steals/blocks to turnover ratio. If you were to run a slow balanced system with all these guys, Wall is easily number 1 I would bet, but, the other PG’s can offer more flexibility with the lower turnovers. Honestly though, all of the top 5 are pretty much elite. Wall is a sick rebounding PG, and I don’t think there is a better set of ratings in the league. A- A- A+ A+ C+? fuck…he just needs an article to his Jump shot…however, this is not who with AC’s could be the best player to win now. All of these guys are. Wall carries easily the most assists, averaging an amazing 12.6 assists with 24.3 points and 6.6 boards. However the 1.9 steals to 3.2 turnovers is worrying
You could order these five in whatever order you want and you wouldn’t be wrong, Rubio comes into the mix with 22.6 points 10.4 assists and a nice 5.2 rebounds. His 3.1 steals are studly, though his 2.4 turnovers help negate that a bit. He isn’t a great shooter. 46.3 82.8 42.0 is nice, but, unremarkable considering the rest of the players. McCallum, Paul, Kemba…each of those guys could be on this list.
So close to making the list, but, his lack of offense puts him on par with Marty and Dwight, but, he doesn’t have the stealing that those two have. He is a better Free throw shooter, but not a passer, and not as good a rebounder as them.
Jefferson was #6 for the PF position due to his offense. He is a bit inefficient, shooting just 44.8% from the field. The rest of the guys have the offense, at least, to a much higher degree, and rebounding, and blocks or assists and stud offense.
Pretty much just due to his inefficient offense. I lined up the reasons in Melos listing. He has better ratings, but his overall performance isn’t as good. He doesn’t score as well, or rebound, or get steals and blocks, compared to his ability to take care of the ball.
Gordon Hayward would rank 7th,...so Erbes will vote
Lakers Thaddeus Young SF 29 6'9'' 232 A- A- D+ A C+ C[/center]

Brown is underrated,, very underrated. He is on the decline now , but 22 points (when the player pages were updated) an impressive 7.3 boards 4.9 assists 2.3 steals .3 blocks 1.8 turnovers solid percentages, though he could be better from the FT line. He is the perfect third option type SG, and a great complimentary player. However, he isn’t good enough to be on the list, just overall not as standout as the other guys. He is good at everything, but really not great at anything.
These are in no particular order, its just easier to put them on it than to decide which one should go, McCallums offense is what held him off the list, compared to the rest he is inefficient offensively 44.6% 78.0% and 37.4%. However, he is great at passing, and taking care of the ball, and stealing. Which makes him an excellent candidate for a pure PG type…with the ability to get you 18-22 a night. If I could choose one PG in the league right now for 7 years, it would be Irving, but then I would go with McCallum.
CP3 misses out because of his defensive rating…and the fact that offensively he isn’t as efficient (461 .838 .362) and his rebounding is poor, however, he too takes excellent care of the ball, and gets steals.
Walker was just traded, he is sick, but, he misses out, cause of his FT shooting, and the fact that he turns it over more than he gets steals. Honestly, he is interchangeable with the rest, but his FG% is a bit worse as well, nothing big though.
Shooting Guards:
