Ryan Edison
Height: 6'9
Weight: 231 lbs
Position: SF
College: BYU
Age: 23
Ratings: B- B+ B- C B- B
College Career: Edison is the type of player we see every four or five years in college basketball. He went relatively unrecruited out of high school. Most schools considered him too slow to really excel at the next level. He was considered a bit of a tweener. He spent four years in college perfecting his craft and by his senior year was considered one of the greatest players in the country. He is a hard-worker, but at 23 it is unsure how much he'll improve his game.
Pros: Edison's biggest pro is his knowledge of the game. He is a very heady player who rarely makes mistakes. He is a great shooter who has shot for high percentages at every level. He is a good passer who is a bit of a point forward. Definitely a plus rebounder for his position, especially on the defensive end. Just always seems to be in the right position.
Cons: The biggest knock on Edison is obviously his lack of defense. He is simply too slow to guard the quicker players in the league. He won't block any shots and is pretty poor man to man defender. Do not expect him to dunk unless he is on a breakaway either.
Overall: Edison is a great scorer who is an offensively gifted player. He will struggle defensively, but it most likely his offense will make up for his defense. He has All-Star potential, but there are some questions how much room for growth he has. Will be an interesting prospect who reminds a lot of scouts of Gordon Hayward.
