"The Golden Samoan" as they call him in Provo, BYU Senior Sefa Faafeu has declared his intentions for the 2018 BBS Draft. Also the starting TE at BYU, Sefa has chosen the route of the BBS over the NFL after falling out of the first round of Mark Kelley's mock draft.
Sefa is a banger as we saw all season at BYU. He is incredibly strong and causes problems on the block for opposing defenders. He also has really nice touch around 15 feet and in. Really solid passer for a big man and quite the compliment in set offenses. When BYU ran the 1-4 this season opposing defenses had a tough time stopping him. His maturity on the court was pivotal in many games. Rebounds like a champ as what he lacks in stature he makes up for in strength. Very solid post defender as it hard to gain position on him in the block.
Stature is a big concern here as being only 6'6 other PF's tower over him. Complete shot blocking liability. Cannot dribble that well either. Probably the biggest concern GM's will have with Faafeu is his age. Due to his mandatory Mormon mission after completing high school, Sefa didn't enroll into BYU until he was 21 years old. At 25 years old he isn't the most ideal prospect that rebuilding GM's seek. Faafeu according to scouts is pretty much tapped out potential wise. Heat scout Vile Vince told BBS insiders that "He doesn't see much room for improvement."
Sefa is arguably the most BBS ready guy in the draft. For CY teams as well as competing teams he can be a very valuable asset for the illustrious BBS ring. However, don't be surprised to see him slip down teams boards on draft day as he isn't the most ideal prospect on most GM's wish list.
