Dalmar Ghedi
Age: 19
Center
7'0"
247 lbs.
Somalia (no college)
Rookie Ratings:
C+ D+ D C+ B+ A
Strengths:
-A nose for the ball and great instincts to be in position for rebounds.
-tremendous potential .
- a decent shotblocker
- willingness to learn.
Weaknesses:
-doesn’t know how to play.
-poor defensively mostly because he has poor fundamentals.
- fouls out constantly.
- No idea what to do with the ball when it is in his hands. Players with quick hands strip the ball while he is figuring out what to so.
- His range extends no further than the foul line though he is a good foul shooter for a center.
Overall:
When Benjamin Taft arrived in Somalia one of the first people he met was Dalmar Ghedi. Dalmar was then a 17 year old. Dalmar was and is a work in progress. He is still learning the basics and has little clue about positioning. He does have height and a nose for the ball. He is a very good rebounder and enjoys nothing more than blocking a shot. He is easily faked out and gets in constant foul trouble. The good news is that he has a ton of potential and with the right training he may turn into a perennial all star. He is poor offensively but could improve. He has little range though he is good free throw shooter. He is easily confused and over thinks what to do once the ball gets into his hands, leading to steals by the opponent. Dalmar is a big risk. He has enormous potential and could either be the bust or the steal of the draft.
