lol you are no longer in this discussion if you think the Shawshank Redemption had critically bad reviews Aren't we talking about sales? the shawshank redemption was top 10 for like a month straight and this going up against movies like Forrest Gump, The Little Giants, and I think Pulp Fiction

what are we talking about sales or reviews? Donnie Darko was always critically acclaimed with limited release that did "well" by limited release standards. The Boondock Saints isn't comparable to Scarface in terms of reviews or sales. The boondock Saints was a below average movie to critics and an average movie to everyone else that hasn't done incredible in sales whether it be in theatre or DVD I am taking about movies that bomb in the theaters can still be successful ie scarface, boondock saints, and tons more. the boondock saints never got a shot at movie theaters because their distributor was awful. It still got much better opening reviews than when Scarface did.
