Alex Lovell 6'5 200 SG 19 years old
Ratings: C C+ C+ B- C A
Strengths: Lovell has been a highly touted SG prospect since first being noticed in high school. He has the body of a SG and the athleticism and tools to be a great one in the future. He has solid form on his jumpshot, can pass the ball, and can create steals on the defensive end. Right now, his game doesn't have any holes, so if he lives up to his potential, he's looking at a great base.
Weaknesses: Lovell hasn't developed the way many thought he would. He had a mediocre freshman season at Kentucky, averaging only 9 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists, and didn't show that he could take over a game. Right now, despite his obvious ability, Lovell has a lot to work on. Even though he has good form, he is an inconsistent shooter who struggles to get to the basket. He defers when he doesn't have to, which really limits his production offensively. Defensively, he tends to overplay the passing lanes and lets his man go by him.
Overall: Lovell is a boom or bust type. If he figures it out, he should be a great shooting guard who can do just about everything. If he doesn't, he could be out of the league in a few years.
