19 year old Danish sensation Soren Overgaard has been a phenom for the otherwise lackluster Danish basketball program over the years. Already on the Danish Senior National team, Overgaard soared to new heights in FIBA U-19 competition by very impressive performances against France and Lithuania grabbing the attention of BBS Scouts. Soren, first picked up a basketball year 10 of primary school and his growth has been exponential over the last 3 years.
Is he ready for BBS
No not yet. Very raw prospect. Has all the potential in the world though. Will he be the best player BBS has ever seen. No. Could he be an all star at some point. Yes
What are his strengths
Very solid midrange game. His length causes many problems for smaller forwards. 3 point shot is off and on but expect it to get much better. Defensive game is extremely good for someone who just picked up a ball 3 years ago. Expect him to be a better than average shot blocker due to his wingspan.
What are his weaknesses?
He isn't weak but he has that European toughness. Meaning in reality no toughness at all. Loves to chill on the perimeter and try to get shots. Offensive awareness is two rungs below his actual physical basketball abilities. Seems lost on the court.
Could he develop an inside game? Potentially but he has to have the mental toughness and awareness to get inside. It's possible but not practical to think he can do this right now.
Really huge upside with Overgaard. Boom or Bust type prospect.
