Strengths: Earl is a scoring machine with massive potential. He's very quick with great handles, but he's a shooting guard all the way because of his lack of interest in passing. Earl has an excellent midrange game and a dominant drive with a great ability to finish. He is a very streaky three point shooter, but he has the range to improve from beyond the arc. He works for rebounds despite his lack of size as a 2.
Weaknesses: Earl is very inconsistent from three. When he's on, he drains 'em, but when he's off, it's brick city. Earl has the tools to be a great point guard, but passing and playmaking for others aren't his top priorities. Earl is a bit weak for defense at the 2, but he can steal the ball. His defense is an overall negative, with the potential to improve as he gets stronger and smarter.
Overall: Earl is an explosive guard who will be a 2 if he can't develop a passing game. Expect low turnovers, great mid range and driving abilities, and plus steals. His threes are lagging, as will his assists. A good rebounder for his size.
Projection: Top 3-5
Best case scenario: Earl has the tools of BBS superstars like Allen Iverson and Monta Ellis. As long as he works on his range and passing, most scouts believe he will be the total package. His defense grade may top out around B or B+, but he can steal the ball and rebound well in addition to excellent scoring.
