Joshua Smith NBA Position: PF/C Birthday: 5/14/92 Ht: 6-10 Wt: 280-305 Hometown: Covington, WA High School: Kentwood Initial ratings:B+ D D C+ C B Strengths:Strong Nice touch around the basket Variety of low post moves Agile for his size Long arms Weaknesses:Out of shape Plays very lackadaisical Poor FT shooter Poor faceup game Poor defensive fundamentals Outlook:Can you say huge gamble? Smith has talent. But his work ethic is questionable to say the least. He is a very good low post scorer for his age with a variety of moves. Also can finish with contact. That's about the extent of his offensive game at this point though. No game facing the basket to speak of. Defensively if he ever got in shape he has the potential to be good. He actually is pretty athletic considering his size. Has long arms and gets off the ground easily. Shows flashes of being a good rebounder. Rebounding though is a lot of desire and that's where Smith falls short. He is flat out just lazy. Does'nt look like he works on his game much, nor his conditioning. He just depends on his natural talent to get by. Which probably does'nt bode well for him in BBS. If someone can light a fuse under him though he could be a steal. Probably a late rd pick.
