i think the problem is with the notes fwiw. if spence is convinced it's not a bad class, then it probably isn't, but the notes really make it feel thin. there are so many guys who are apparently good prospects, but the notes don't mention their upside, their ratings look mediocre, and their strengths aren't impressive This

Re: Centers! « Reply #19 on Jun 20, 2011, 6:30pm » Clyde Lovellette C 6'9'' 235 26 B+ C- C- C+ B- A -Should get a ton of steals. -Solid inside scorer. -Decent jumpshot. -Good athlete. -Decent rebounder. -Mediocre defender. -Wont block shots. there's nothing impressive about this guy, and certainly nothing that stands out above his age, and he's being called a top 5 prospect. i feel like if spence wasn't explicitly saying that, and all there is to go on is those notes, there's no way he goes anywhere near the top 5. like i said yesterday, when you ignore upside, you make the draft a crapshoot. i'm not sweating it, i mean i'm not even trying to tank, but i think the notes and file don't make this draft look anywhere near as good as spence is saying it is He could pretty easily be a A- C C B B+ player. That isnt a good top 5 pick?

spence, you know you stopped mentioning upside, i don't know why you're ignoring that. and we've both had our share of lotto picks without hating the files or the notes. i mean if i pulled up notes and ratings from the year i took ray, i think it'd be plenty obvious that this time around it's way different

That isnt a good top 5 pick? he's 26 and you don't even make him sound good. you have to realize when a guy comes in with that flawed a game at 26, his value depends a lot on his potential, and you ignore his upside. it's completely make or break with him.

That isnt a good top 5 pick? Isaiih Austin in uoslr had like 70 inside and A- it depends on the ratings underneath...especially with no blocks he'll James mcadoo had a- inside for a long time here and sucked

I've drafted very well, Rollins, derozan, he'll, I even chanced on okafor and he blew up eventually, Durante was supposed to be a franchise changer but wasn't, still though, as long as there is hope it's fine, fbb is random as it is, this just makes it scary

and tbh lovellete's game is total shit for a 26 year old, so no, he's nowhere near top 5 unless spence comes out and says i think this guy is a top 5 pick. and it shouldn't have to be like that. the notes can mention his potential without giving away that he's a top 5 prospect.

Dez Ford C 6'11'' 280 20 B C- D+ C+ B A…Ford is so strong. He is probably the strongest player in the league already. He is a beast down low offensively. Ford is also a pretty good rebounder. He isn’t much of a defender also can’t block shots. Ford also isn’t very athletic.
Io absolutely loved him as a prospect, and you gave no mention of his upside, since you made him sound elite
