Jarret Ellis
7'1 225 C
Ohio State University
19 years old
Ratings: C+ D C- A- C A
Inside: Ellis is ridiculously athletic. He can jump, and that's pretty much it. He is not very developed from the post and isn't very strong. Is not a big time scorer
Outside: Ellis is not a good shooter at all. He rarely takes a jump shot and is extremely inconsistent from the free throw line. He shot 58% from the stripe in college.
Handles: Ellis has surprisingly good court vision and is a good passer. He also runs the floor incredibly well for someone his size. However, he has a propensity to turn the ball over. He turns it over so much for someone who rarely gets the ball.
Defense: Ellis is a world class shot blocker. He led the Nation in shot blocking as a freshman with over 4 per game, and has exquisite timing to go with his size and jumping ability. However, he is a mediocre post defender and doesn't really do anything else well on defense.
Rebounding: Ellis is flat out horrible. He will get the occasional offensive rebounding but struggles boxing people out. He relies on his athleticism too much to get rebounds.
Upside: Ellis has character issues. Everyone around him told him to stay in college and that he was far too raw to enter BBS after one season. However, if he puts it together, he could be great. He has all of the tools to be a superstar defensively and improve the rest of his game.
Overall: If he puts it together, Ellis could be a stud. If not, he will still be able to stay in the league as a shot blocker who doesn't do anything else.
