Which team has a better chance of not only making the CY but going deeper in the playoffs? Lakers or Clippers
Broph: The Clippers, as they have the stud rebounding of a three big lineup, Brook Lopez blocking shots in the middle, a stud big beside him in Jonas, Rudy Gay at the wing is a perfect role player, as is CDR, Meanwhile, the Lakers while they have studs in Gasol Kaman and Gilchrist, and Schved, have NO depth, which makes it tough in the event of an injury to make it in the playoffs. The Clippers are short a backup PG, the Lakers are short a backup everything.
Greeme: La Lakers – They have a better starting 5 than the Clippers but less depth. It should be easy to get depth as the season moves along. Gasol and Kaman are a top frontcourt. If Gilchrist's ratings bump translates into superstar numbers look out.
Insane: -As of right now, the no brainer answer to this question is the LA Clippers. The Lakers have the better front court, but Clippers have the better overall team in my opinion. And they just dealt for Kobe, so they're running with Brook/Jonas/Kobe/Gay/Irving which is very nice and a little more well rounded than Nanz's team. Nanz will probably need to make a few more moves to be a real threat. I think the Clippers success will hinge on how good Irving is. If Irving averages 10+ assists, Clippers will be a dominant force in the league, probably winning 55+. Actually never mind, I just looked at the Lakers roster and remember how good GIlchrist is lolz. Meh, it's actually pretty much a tossup, but I'll stick with my prediction of LAC going further in the playoffs.
Nanz : I think its the Clippers but its close. Once we get Wesley back we should have a solid back up 1-3 with murphy at the 4 and 5 with 12 mil expiring to trade. However, the Clippers lineup is pretty damn good. Brook with JV and now Kobe with Rudy and Irving they should be a tough match up. They need to capitalize with Kobe this year because i think he is a one year rental and giving up Love hurts their future.
Who should be the next GM to be fired therefore allowing lums back in the league?
Broph:Mops I think, he really doesn’t do anything with his team, and he has John Freaking Wall. I haven’t seen articles, his moves have sucked, and he gives out shitty ass contracts to scrubs…not a good combo. I guess he is a bit active, but, nothing amazing and it really isn’t that impressive.
Greeme: The North. Seems like a nice enough guy but hard too trade with. Has a lot of contracts which weigh his team down. Lots of solid pgs. Really need better players. It always seem easy in this league to trade youth for old talent. Get something done!!
Insane-Dunno. I don't really have a problem with the way anyone's been running their team. Sucks, but I guess I'll go with the North here. He hasn't done a horrible job but he's not that active so whatever. Tyreke Evans is pretty sick though, North should try to surround him and Wayns with some shot blockers and post defenders and see what happens. I think they're a few moves away from being pretty good
Nanz: I think the GMs now are pretty good but i guess i would have to go with Mops just because he hasn't done anything. He is lucky he has Wall because other than that there really isn't much else. He needs to step up and make noise in the playoffs every once in a while because he isn't one of the most active gms around.
Out of these teams who had the better off-season: Blazers, Clipper or Lakers?
Broph:Clippers, Blazers gave up what turned out to be the #1 pick for Amare, who is 31 and overpaid, and Alec Burks, who is sick, not great, the Lakers aren’t as good of a team in my mind, and the Clippers are still young, which is kinda scary, Marty did an excellent job rebuilding that team, as much as I hate to say it.
Greeme: Lakers. Just Gilchrist's tc would be enough. Also got Wes Johnson to sign for a song allowing the Lakers to package a bunch of players for Gasol. They also traded for Kaman which is questionable for the future but good for the present.
Insane-Depends how you wanna look at it. They all have pretty sick teams right now, but the Lakers probably got the most value in their deals. Dan gave up the pick that turned out to be Barnes for Amare, and Marty gave up a shitload for Brook. Out of the three, Blazers probably improved the most though. I love that Nanz stuck to his guns with Gilchrist though, I thought GIlchrist was a bit of a bust to be honest but he proved me wrong big time.
Nanz: I would probably have to go with the Blazers just because had no pressure to go for anything unlike the CY teams. He had the right picks and knew when to cash them in. Nice job this off-season but Hank.
Out of the teams without their picks this year, who is the most likely to give up a higher pick, the Thunder or Magic?
Broph:Magic to be honest, the Thunder actually have stuff to trade to make themselves better, the Magic are in the easier Eastern Conference, but, they don’t have the trade assets…the team just straight sucks. Westbrook is a TO whore, Knight looks nice, but, is expiring, so he wont fetch too much, for bigs they have Landry, who is ok, nothing amazing, and nobody who can rebound. Team is a piece of shit.
Greeme :Gms always do their best to mess up picks they traded bc nothing hurts more than seeing somebody draft a stud with one of your picks. Magic have a decent backcourt in Knight and Westbrook. The Thunder have a decent frontcourt in Oden and Gilchrist. The Thunder have a little more talent in the backcourt than the Magic do in the frontcourt and that should make the difference.
Insane-Magic look like they have more talent right now but that could change in a hurry. Thunder have some young talent that they could trade for some veterans to try to make some noise. But the West is so good, and there's three new playoff contenders in Portland and the LA teams that are trying to make the playoffs so it'll be tough for Aaron. I think the East will be a little weaker so Orlando will probably be able to rattle off more wins with Knight, Westbrook and Landry.
Nanz: I think both Gms are gonna make it very tough and are gonna go all out to try to make their picks as bad as possible. Thunder have more talent and pieces to try to make some moves but they are also in the west which is gonna be very tough this year. The Magic have some pieces but they are gonna need to trade for some bigs if they wanna have a shot at the playoffs. I'll go wth the Magic for now.
What are the chances the Suns and Bulls make the finals again?
Broph:Id say its unlikely, while the Suns are pretty sick, I think some of the other teams improved enough to beat them, but, the Bulls are still probably the Favorite to make it outta the East. They should be ok rebounding, but defensively they are solid, and Sanders looks solid as a backup big, with Caracter. The East is poor, so they should be able to find their way back to the finals, at least at this moment.
Greeme: Pretty good. Everyone else in the East seems to have taken a step back so the Bulls will have an easier time getting back to the finals. The west has more good teams so the Suns road back will be tougher but they are still the favorite to repeat.
InsaneThe Bulls have a great shot at representing the East again, but for some reason I don't feel the same way about the Suns. Maybe because of how the CY teams + Portland have loaded up, and the West is really challenging, but Mark's going to have his work cut out for him. It just doesn't happen very often in FBB, and anything could happen in the playoffs, so I think the odds are pretty low.
Nanz I think they both have a very good chance. The bulls have some nice competition in the east but not nearly as tough as the Suns have it out West. I wouldn't be shocked or surprised at all if they both made it back but i could easily see a team knocking out the Suns before getting there.
Its has been quite some time since Jeff took over the Nets and he has made a bunch of trade BUT do you feel he still doesn't deserve credit for the success of the Nets?
Broph:Now maybe he deserves credit for the success, but, the title he doesn’t. He did move for Melo, and the Al jeff Noah trade, so you can call it his team now. Pretty sure though there is no title attached to his recent success so it really doesn’t matter much, he would much rather have credit for the title than a bunch of playoff teams.
Greeme: The whole thing precedes my time in the league but sometimes you should get credit for not making trades. The first impulse of every new gm is too rip up a team and if you can overcome that to not make bad trades that is almost as important as making good ones
Insane lol. It's about time he started a rebuild because Melo's getting up there in age and he won't get a really good return for Melo and Paul if he keeps waiting. He held off on the rebuild last season because he felt he could run the East but his team was clearly over rated, and as the Bulls youngsters get more seasoned, the chances of the Nets taking out the Bulls only get slimmer from here on out.
Nanz : He definitely deserves credit now but he's not winning another championship so i'm ok with that lol. He is not a great GM yet but he is still learning. It's safe to save Jeff was a better choice over Steve lol
What do you think of the new heat GM, Bryan, not signing anyone in Broph:FA and wasting his cap? Do you think he is gonna last?
Broph:I think he still has his pick right? I am sure he sent offers, but, he failed to get anybody, oh well, it happens, with that team, and a bunch of scrubs he can still tank, and adding a high draft pick to those two is pretty sick. He only has his pick if its top 15, so being mediocre does no good. Do I know if he sticks around? No, mainly cause I haven’t been impressed with him in UOSL4 so far, but, maybe he impresses me over here.
Greeme:Dumb. He could have signed guys to one year contracts and traded them for picks. Not difficult and would help him in the future. Still, Howard is a solid starting piece for any team so he should be able to get a top draft pick and do something in fa next year. Mccants should go for picks in order to make sure this team is as bad as they can be.
Insane-It was interesting I guess but MobRuler is a good GM from what I remember so I trust him. Dwight/McCants is a pretty sick 1-2 punch and once Bryan signs some MLE's and whatnot, the Heat could be a pretty tough team to play. I don't remember how he left last time, but if he puts in some effort this time around he should do alright.
Nanz: It was freaking crazy!!! I had no idea what he was doing. If he is rebuilding sign some players so you can trade them for picks. If you're trying to compete try to sign some players to win! I think he should have used his cap but its not the end of the world. I like Bryan and he seems like a solid GM so i think he'll be around.
Who are the top 4 teams in the league? (Top 2 in the East and West)
Broph:In the West, I think you have to go with the Clippers, they have a sick player at every position except PG, and even Kyrie is pretty solid, sick steals, which help cover the turnovers. Love, Jonas, Lopez is a tough frontcourt to rebound against, they have the depth everywhere outside PG to cover in the even of an injury.
2nd I think its probably still the suns, they have shotblocking, are great at not turning the ball over, and have nice rebounding. Deron is still as sick as ever, and I doubt Webster really got much worse defensively, even with the drop in D. They also are short a backup at the PG spot, but all in all, you could put them ahead of the Clippers and I wouldn’t argue really, I just think the Clippers are a bit better.
In the East I have to go with the Bulls at the top spot, they didnt lose anybody, and nobody in the east made a significant move to get better, then the Nets, with the impressive looking Al Jefferson heading up the C spot, and Melo and Paul still doing their thing. Sullinger was a nice MLE pickup, not a defensive guy, but he can provide a scoring spark off the bench. They may have been the East Finals rep if Paul hadnt have gotten injured, in fact, this may have changed my mind about my answer to the Bulls Suns rematch, and this question, but Im too lazy to retype it, I gotta go Post pad
Greeme: East – Bulls and Nets. Nets are far behind though.
West – Suns and Nuggets.
Insane-Bulls are the top team out East imo, with Hayward and Jones only getitng better. I guess I'll go with the Bobcats as the number two team in the East simply because I feel they're gonna be a really tough out in the playoffs the way they're built. They have a great PG in Rubio, the best post scorer in the league in ZBo, and some nice roleplayers in McGee, Brown and Randolph.
Out West, I'll go with Phoenix and Denver as the #1 and 2 until Portland/LA teams can prove otherwise. Phoenix obviously gets love as the defending champions, and Denver has proven that they play well as a team even though I thought that Kaman deal was retarded. This ranking coudl easily change as we see if the CY teams and Portland have a roster that sims well.
Nanz Top 2 teams in the West are the Suns and I'll go with the Clippers. The suns are the champs so they are number 1 to me and i think they upgraded from Al to Noah so they should be as tough as last year. Clippers have made their move with Kobe so i think they are gonna be right there with the Suns all year long. The top teams in the East would have to be the EC champs Bulls as number 1 and the Nets at 2. No reason why i would put the Nets above the Bulls but it should be fun to see if the Bulls can beat the Nets again with Paul.
