Harrison Barnes
Small Forward
6'8''
218 lbs.
North Carolina
Rookie Ratings: B+ B C B+ C+ A
Strengths:
- Crazy wingspan at 7'0'' which makes him a beast on the defensive end and allows him to score efficiently in the interior
- Has an excellent jump shot for a guy coming out of college with upside to improve.
- Great attitude and always seems to make the right decisions on the court, whether it'd be a good pass or good shot selection.
- Amazing size for a guy his age. Has the build and strength to compete with nba players right off the bat.
Weaknesses:
- Although he has amazing length and size, his athleticism could be the only thing missing as far as his explosiveness.
- Still a bit raw on the perimeter, he played mostly in the interior until late in his high school career so that might be an aspect of his game he might need to improve.
- We're nitpicking here, but he might want to develop his ability to use his left hand a little more in order to become a more complete player.
Outlook:
- Harrison Barnes looks like a once in a decade prospect coming out and I'm not sure we've seen anyone as good as him before playing his first NBA Game. He has minor things he needs to improve on if he wants to become an elite player in this league, but don't be surprised if he's a top 3 player by the time his rookie contract is done with. Looks like a guy who could put up 25 ppg right now. There's hardly any weakness in his game and there's no red flags on his attitude either, so it looks like he'll reach is potential.
